You wrote, "Just a few thoughts, not taking sides one way or the other. I belonged to the Episcopal church for many years, I left because I believed they were heading down the wrong road. "

I understand when you had to leave the Episc. because they were "heading down the wrong road".

But, it's interesting, because it got SO BAD there that you were forced to "take sides".

None of us here want to be mean to Joel, just to be mean to Joel, or because we are "jealous" of his house, his hair or his church.....

It's because he is "heading down the wrong road".

... and he is dragging MILLIONS of people down "the wrong road".

I plan to watch the video piece this weekend and get a lil better idea of this fella’s position.

I'm only commenting based off of things I've heard previously, but I do understand what the argument is regarding Joel and his wife.

I am an old traditionalist. If I had my way, I'd have all old hymns, stained glass, upside down boat gothic architecture, organ with big tall pipes, communion at every service, cassocks, smells and bells...you name it. lol

One person is too many.

Why is Vision's posting of regular Osteen's propaganda considered a valid --and protected-- devotional for FR?

Why does the religion moderator so rigorously protect this daily posting that so many FReepers believe is promoting a cult?

Wonderful poster. Reminds me of the time I got off the freeway while driving through South Dakota. I don’t know how people can live in such a desolate place. But many do, and thrive.

Perhaps Osteen’s followers are like that, making the best of a barren landscape. Some very good people, btw.
