BREAKING: Pope Harming the Church
Posted on 10/17/2014 5:25:44 PM PDT by Brian Kopp DPM
“There will always be marginalized, lukewarm and part-time Catholics who attend Mass occasionally or infrequently, who may be in an invalid marriage or living together. Persons with same-sex attraction may have succumbed to the invalid civil union and civil marriage recourse. Pastorally seeing and treating all of them as children of God and as brothers and sisters in Christ in need of moral and spiritual guidance is what the Church is about. Not denying or watering down the faith, but with mercy, encouraging them to amend their lives and rectify their relationships.....” ~ Fr. John Trigilio
Amazing when a parish priest has more understanding of Catholic Church doctrine that the Pope.....but he certainly does.
But why the envy over the money to begin with? I don’t think Voris is required to take a vow of poverty. If he made a lot of money (which he does not) for his hard work, more power to him.
I really do, though.
Why in the world would you insinuate some kind of financial misdeed for him or myself?
That's just bizarre, even calumnious.
Feel free to disagree with my Catholic position, call me a wrongheaded idiot, but please don't insinuate I'm benefiting financially from posting here or anywhere else.
It differs a lot. It makes it sound as if Cdl Burke has charged the Pope with (intentionally) harming the Church. His actual statement was neutral and just an observation about Francis’ failure to be explicit.
Saying that Burke has actually made a statement like this is just giving more ammunition to the Pope, who will probably not even send Burke to Malta now but probably remove him altogether from service to the Church. People should be more careful about inflammatory headlines because they can do a lot of damage.
No idea! Its one of the most bizarre things I've seen come from our "side" over the years.
The pope is not free to change the churchs teachings with regard to the immorality of homosexual acts or the insolubility of marriage or any other doctrine of the faith.
Wow..Just wow
Am I a bad Catholic to support what our American Cardinal said?
No. See my new sig.
That video is great. Thanks.
As a person, the Pope is not infallible. Nor are his non official statements on the various subjects or theology.
The question is whether Francis will make an official statement on the Faith that could contradict Church teachings.
Unfortunately, I think Francis will do it.
I've been on EWTN Radio and Radio Maria network. I've never been on Voris' programs.
The Pope and his progressive henchmen just tried to change the Church's teachings on Sacraments for the divorced and remarried and homosexuality, but you're worked up about Voris' title of a blog post?!?
Ok....now that we got that cleared up...
So have I ,but I guess I’m mistaken about the TV part with him for you..Cardinal Burke is an easy interview. We did it .Very sweet nice man and very holy. But we never change his words. You don’t have answer for Michael to me.
You are not getting this Brian. It’s a betrayal of the interview. He is trying to sensationalized the headline. That’s why I asked about the money.
No, I do not agree with your assessment. Voris has steadfastly defended this Pope and criticized anyone who criticized this Pope.
He had his eyes opened this week, I think, and he was shocked by the forthright and blunt words of Cardinal Burke.
The title reflects the reality at the Vatican, whether we like it or acknowledge it or not.
As Steve Jalsevac says today in this article, Robert Royals synod call to vigilance for the next year
The time for naiveté and overly pious responses to harsh realities that have now been exposed is over.
I sat with Steve at lunch one day this week, and I think he and everyone who had reporters on the inside of this Synod, or who was there or talked to orthodox bishops and cardinals there, is shocked by what transpired. None of us know what to say or how to say it as nothing quite like what has transpired over the last two years has ever happened before in the history of the Church.
Please see the infallibility of the pope, the assumption of Mary, the immaculate conception.
Not one supported by the Bible.
What’s a cultural Catholic? Nancy Pelosi? Joe Biden?
They go to Mass. Donna Wuerl gives them Holy Communion. They’re cultural; just like Donna and Francis.
“The question is whether Francis will make an official statement on the Faith that could contradict Church teachings.
Unfortunately, I think Francis will do it”
He then becomes an Apostate and can be ignored by anyone, including the Bishops.
He changed the Cardinal words.Hello,Does Michael think he is that important.

On June 27, 2008, Pope Benedict XVI appointed Burke Prefect of the Supreme Tribunal of the Apostolic Signatura.[23] The Supreme Tribunal of the Apostolic Signatura exercises final appellate jurisdiction for conflicts between two or more Vatican congregations and appeals of administrative decisions by diocesan bishops and Vatican congregations.
