BREAKING: Pope Harming the Church

On the contrary, Luther sought reform from real problems and abuses, and his doctrine was not radical, but was straight out Augustinianism. It was the church that turned on him.
Wow...
You infer the Holy Spirit only has ears to hear the Pope alone?
Michael Voris is a Catholic even I, a Reformed Presbyterian, can admire. He is a credit to your church. The problem is that he is not respected by your church, or, at least, its Pope and the folks like him.
The world, as usual, misunderstood his actions and took it as a sign of humility. Wrong. A humble man would have ignored his own preferences and obediently followed in the tradition of the saintly men who preceded him.
This was the action of a proud man flipping the bird at Catholic tradition and subjugating the Petrine office to his own whims, an action repeated this past week.
I can't think of anyone in my parish who would. But I know plenty of self-identifying Catholics who have a problem with obedience, but they're usually not active in the Church, Sunday Catholics, or cultural Catholics.
Yes, I do believe Voris is waking up.
Makes me wonder if Benedict should have stayed on, no matter how tired.
Yes, I think the Pope knows this. It is noteworthy that there was a Pope a long time ago who was planning to reverse church teaching. He experienced an unexpected death shortly after announcing his plans.
"There should be no politics about this. The Church is not a Democracy... The POPE is supposed to tell all of us what GOD commands.
That's true in one sense, but not true --- or at least no quite adequate --- in another.
Yes, the Pope is supposed to tell us what God commands. That's in the job description for sure.
But he is not an autocrat nor the only shepherd. His authority is at every point superseded by that of Christ, the supreme Authority; and also he is surrounded by that vast crowd of shepherds who came before him, and those shepherds all around him who are called the bishops.
He is, as Christ said, to be feeding and caring for them, and also confirming them: (Luke 22:32) "Confirm (or 'strengthen') the brethren." They too have a shepherdship, and not merely derivative from his: they have their own proper succession from the Apostles as well. The Pope is not to deal with them high-handedly as if they were dependents or franchisees.
This synod has certainly been a sausage-factor-tour for us all --- not always a pretty sight --- but the Holy Spirit will find a way to settle their hash. It may take the intervention of somebody quite outside the box, another St. Catherine of Siena.
As has happened not infrequently in the Church's Providence-rescued past.
Oremus.
According to him he works 18 hours a day and will never Marry and is chaste. How much money does he make with Militant Catholic TV?
Well, if the folks in your parish will accept a change of the Church’s teaching because “the Pope says it’s okay now”, they may as well be burning their house down. The Pope’s power is to be the guardian of tradition, not an innovator.
Hopefully alot!
Voris' headline: BREAKING: Pope Harming the Church
Burke's quote: "Pope has done a lot of harm by not saying openly what his position is"
I'm not seeing how the headline differs that much from the quote.
You really don’t understand what’s happening. We’ll handle this; thanks.
Why was my post removed. You told us on this forum you were on his TV show.
:)
I wouldn’t think that. The devil never rests.
“Judas,” Jesus said to him in the garden of Gethsemane, “would you betray the Son of Man with a kiss?” (Luke 24:48).
“Unfortunately, scandal is nothing new for the Church.
Martin Luther, an Augustinian priest, lived during the reign of perhaps the most notorious pope in history, Alexander VI. He had nine children from six different concubines. He put out contracts on the lives of those he considered his enemies.
Luther, like everyone, must have wondered how God could allow a wicked man to be the visible head of his Church. All types of moral problems confronted Luther even in his own country of Germany. Luther was scandalized, as anyone who loved God should have been. He allowed the scandal to drive him from the Church.”
Less than $50,000 a year, if I remember correctly. (I think it was actually $40,000 a year?) Not much, regardless. So your point is?!? He's not wealthy like the German bishops pushing this heresy, who make between $131,000 and $189,000 a year, exactly the kind of rich churchmen this Pope otherwise deplores. I guess they're Ok, since they're pushing his agenda?.
