Well, if the folks in your parish will accept a change of the Church’s teaching because “the Pope says it’s okay now”, they may as well be burning their house down. The Pope’s power is to be the guardian of tradition, not an innovator.

Amazing when a parish priest has more understanding of Catholic Church doctrine that the Pope.....but he certainly does.
