I thought FRoman Catholics frowned on “snippet hunting”. Playing jigsaw puzzles with God's word, taking pieces of verses, appending them to others and making them say what one wants them to say, rather than what they actually DO say - failing to even reference WHERE these verses are found in the Bible so the reader can look for themselves - is not a sign of integrity. It smacks of dishonesty. Is this a game?

It seems to be part of the Catholic way. Withhold from the people the ability to "search the scripture to see if these things be true".
