You may recall that the opinion of James was the one the Council went with....not Peter's. Looks like James had the leadership role. So there was no "leader" as you presuppose.
But back to the original topic; you took a verse out of context and tried to make an example of a false teaching within the Bible.....much as you are attempting to do this with poor comparison.
Not at all; Peter was the Apostle of all the Jews (like the Pope) while James was the leader in the church at Jerusalem (like a Bishop). You will never be able to separate the Jewish Apostles from Messiah, or from each other, to mimic the rebellions, reformations, and reconstructions among the Gentiles who call themselves disciples but reject one holy catholic and apostolic church.
