Why would intelligent, successful people give up their careers, alienate their friends, and cause havoc in their families...to become Catholic? Indeed, why would anyone become Catholic?
As an evangelist and author who recently threw my own life into some turmoil by deciding to enter the Catholic Church, I've faced this question a lot lately. That is one reason I decided to make this documentary; it's part of my attempt to try to explain to those closest to me why I would do such a crazy thing.
Convinced isn't just about me, though. The film is built around interviews with some of the most articulate and compelling Catholic converts in our culture today, including Scott Hahn, Francis Beckwith, Taylor Marshall, Holly Ordway, Abby Johnson, Jeff Cavins, Devin Rose, Matthew Leonard, Mark Regnerus, Jason Stellman, John Bergsma, Christian Smith, Kevin Vost, David Currie, Richard Cole, and Kenneth Howell. It also contains special appearances by experts in the field of conversion such as Patrick Madrid and Donald Asci.
Ultimately, this is a story about finding truth, beauty, and fulfillment in an unexpected place, and then sacrificing to grab on to it. I think it will entertain and inspire you, and perhaps even give you a fresh perspective on an old faith.

Prove that Nixon was elected using scripture alone.
I'm glad if you acknowledge Peter's designation at the word of our Lord. Peter exercised this leadership at the Council, in unity with the other Apostles (and those eligible to be Apostles). Peter had the power to bind and loose.
If it was true and scriptural you all wouldn't be afraid to post it on the open forum.
>>Where is there an online doctrinal statement for your church that differentiates your assembly from the thousands of denominations, sects, and cults ?<<
Prayers up for the Lord's blessing upon you for genuine peace and swift healing. My Jesus be with the Surgeon and staff to guide their hands with skill and wisdom.
14Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. 15Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. 16Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
You may recall that the opinion of James was the one the Council went with....not Peter's. Looks like James had the leadership role. So there was no "leader" as you presuppose.
But back to the original topic; you took a verse out of context and tried to make an example of a false teaching within the Bible.....much as you are attempting to do this with poor comparison.
Its just that I thought all should be reminded that not all at all times can access with the fastest nor are they on large screens. Apology accepted.
Really Classy.
If you don't want to eat your own words....
I suppose we need to understand that they are not privy to the Holy Spirit as counselor. The Catholic Church has been seccessful at indoctrinating not only its followers but others as well that ekklesia means “church”. Then they corrupt what even that originally meant. Today they are so far from what ekklesia meant it is unrecognizable to them. Cult indoctrination is insidious.
You are wrong
What in the world does that have to do with the Bible? Prove thar Mary was without sin?
I guess Catholics don't take Jesus' teaching on sinning in the heart and thoughts as being actual sin as if it were done, seriously.
He said that if a man looks on a woman to lust after her in his heart, he has already committed adultery with her.
It's the INTENT of the Law that counts as well as the outward keeping of it.
That probably also explains why Catholics are capable of thinking that they are pretty good at not sinning during the week.
Do not let that poster bug you. God bless. : )
Not at all; Peter was the Apostle of all the Jews (like the Pope) while James was the leader in the church at Jerusalem (like a Bishop). You will never be able to separate the Jewish Apostles from Messiah, or from each other, to mimic the rebellions, reformations, and reconstructions among the Gentiles who call themselves disciples but reject one holy catholic and apostolic church.
Thank you so much. I am more worried about this surgery than any I have ever had. My vision is so important. God bless.
When cb is told WHY he’s wrong, then he will have been corrected.
Otherwise, simply saying *You’re wrong* is a waste of bandwidth.
Got Scripture?
