I was brought up Roman Catholic in the 50’s. What you all are describing as “Catholicism” today is a bleeping joke. The church has been Marxified and now preaches social justice and kissy huggy bullshit. True Roman Catholicism is a harsh religion demanding much from its adherents. You people would run screaming away from it if it was still here.

I only have the commentary here on FR as a guide, so I suppose the sample is skewed, then

...ah, so you have a quite limited idea of that which you post about...

Vatican II is routinely decried on an ongoing basis, as is Pope Francis.

...Vatican II was, and is, a highly controversial issue...fundamentally altering Catholic identity for the foreseeable future...the innovations that came in its wake, generally now as the ‘spirit of Vat II’, have caused a great deal of mischief, and has led to an undeniabe lassitude in Catholic catechesis...to not criticize constitutes moral malfeasance...

Those making the claim here are verging upon schism themselves.

...what claim are you talking about...? and also, be careful of your understanding of the term ‘schism’...

>Who is your faith in? Jesus or someone/thing? The answer determines who you follow.<

Catholics trust in Jesus, who gave us the Catholic Church, guided by the Holy Spirit in all truth.

He gave us the ἐκκλησία, people called out from the world and to God, the total body of believers who God calls out from the world and into His eternal kingdom. (definition from Strongs and Word Helps)

I'm glad to hear catholics trust in Jesus. You guys seem to have added a whole bunch of other stuff you have to trust in as well.

...what you say is absolutely correct...but the Mass of the
Ages remains, celebrated by the FSSP...if you are so turned off by the modern service, do you make use of the TLM, if available...?

There are quite a number here who do not accept Pope Francis. I watched threads as he went through the initial ceremony and he was called demonic because he didn’t genuflect at a certain point where it was believed that ritual or ceremony called for it. You know as well as I do that there are a number of sedevacantists here, and a larger number of SSPX. I’m aware of Fellay and I know of the controversy that surrounds him. The Roman Catholicism championed by traditionalists is not representative at all of reality, with Francis working to remove traditionalists, apparently. So, it would seem to me that those who are quite literally claiming to be more Catholic than the Pope here are verging upon schism. Constant appeals to authority while simultaneously rejecting it themselves are not at all persuasive.

Since your post was addressed to me, I should respond by telling you that I am not a member of the Roman Catholic church.

Take away that those that don’t practice, which is exactly like a protestant not practicing their faith, and you are still left with the BIGGEST CHRISTIAN DENOMINATION in the world.

...unless someone clearly states their sedevancantism, you have no basis on which to make that statement...

...if one wishes to proclaim himself more Catholic than someone else, that is his right, and does not constitute schism at all...it just makes him an arrogant boor...

You are wrong.

Based on what? RC's certainly have added burdens of religiosity which are nowhere sanctioned by Jesus Christ or by the writers of the New Testament. What is your evidence to back your claim? Faith? In just what or who do you place your faith?

That's what you posted in response as your personal interpretation of what was said. But that is not what the poster said. Not at all.

Perhaps you are correct in your interpretation more than you realize right now.

Indegogo is a site where people with an idea for something, be it a new product or a film project, can go to raise money for their projects. It’s not one person’s blog.

Keep in mind that I’m an outsider, IrishBrigade. I’m not as hostile as some seem to think. I do disagree on certain doctrines, on one fairly profoundly. But I know and love many individuals who are Roman Catholic. I accept them and you as fellow Christians. I’m no “hater.”

This is what I’m seeing and perceiving, in light of that.
