Why would intelligent, successful people give up their careers, alienate their friends, and cause havoc in their families...to become Catholic? Indeed, why would anyone become Catholic?
As an evangelist and author who recently threw my own life into some turmoil by deciding to enter the Catholic Church, I've faced this question a lot lately. That is one reason I decided to make this documentary; it's part of my attempt to try to explain to those closest to me why I would do such a crazy thing.
Convinced isn't just about me, though. The film is built around interviews with some of the most articulate and compelling Catholic converts in our culture today, including Scott Hahn, Francis Beckwith, Taylor Marshall, Holly Ordway, Abby Johnson, Jeff Cavins, Devin Rose, Matthew Leonard, Mark Regnerus, Jason Stellman, John Bergsma, Christian Smith, Kevin Vost, David Currie, Richard Cole, and Kenneth Howell. It also contains special appearances by experts in the field of conversion such as Patrick Madrid and Donald Asci.
Ultimately, this is a story about finding truth, beauty, and fulfillment in an unexpected place, and then sacrificing to grab on to it. I think it will entertain and inspire you, and perhaps even give you a fresh perspective on an old faith.

you know so little about God and the bible, remember it was God who told Moses and the Jewish people to look at the snake on the pole so the serpents wouldn’t bite them.
the one and true church, the Catholic Church, the Church Christ made, while your church is how old?
That lame attempt it is getting old. And what was done to that "brass snake" when they began to burn insence to it?
2 Kings 18:4 He removed the high places and broke down the sacred pillars and cut down the Asherah. He also broke in pieces the bronze serpent that Moses had made, for until those days the sons of Israel burned incense to it; and it was called Nehushtan.
Another instance where God said destroy that stuff. Don't incorporate it.
>>while your church is how old?<<
Roughly 1950 years.
what a totally useless, irrelevant, and pointless question.
The ekklesia, the church, is what Christ started. Not the catholic church in its current configuration.
You may want to keep those personal comments out of it. Rather frowned on here.
The answer is Catholics have more fun. My Catholic cousins could dance, drink, play cards, gamble and smoke and the protestants couldnt. BTW Im not Catholic but had a little envy for my cousins who were.
I’ve gone in circles with certain Baptist preachers about alcohol.
If drinking causes you to sin, you shouldn’t drink. If you are around someone who has a problem with alcohol, you should abstain while in their presence.
Romans 14 spells it out!
Most every Baptist I know drinks. In fact we just went to a Baptist wedding and the booze was flowing. I used to have a devout Baptist neighbor that used to say at the end of the work week: “All I need is a bottle of wine and a long straw!”
Christianity worships Jesus the Christ.
Christianity does not include worshiping a goddess/matriarch, committing grotesque descerations of human remains (kissing skulls) or praying to dead humans.
Verga - You are wrong.
---------
John 14:6 - Jesus answered, I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
No, Verga. YOU are wrong.
**Christianity does not include worshiping a goddess/matriarch, committing grotesque descerations of human remains (kissing skulls) or praying to dead humans.**
Neither do Catholics.
We honor Mary as the Mother of Jesus, true man and true God.
We respect the saints and those who have died. Only their bodies are dead. Their souls can still hear our requests to them.
We also respect the relics of the saints.
it wasn’t personal...God wanted the Jews to look at idols, graven images, so you were wrong. You shouldn’t have posted incorrect information.
How many books have you written and had published? What is your Ph.D. in?
What part of “destroy them” did you not understand?
How many wives did Ted Kennedy, who was buried Catholic, have?
Are you putting Ted Kennedy out as your example of a fine, practicing Catholic?
Really???!!!
Those Kennedy lads a LOT of wives; the wives they had were married to other men, but they were wives none the less!!!
John 6:53 - Then Jesus said to them: Amen, amen I say unto you: Except you eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, you shall not have life in you.
You're wrong.
Dude...do you know how condescending your tone is to imply that the catholic church of today wrote the Bible??
Sounds like “Soviet Russia.”
“We invented first!”
Satan works overtime to get them to take their eyes off of Jesus.
You are wrong.
Most every Baptist I know drinks. In fact we just went to a Baptist wedding and the booze was flowing.
I’ve no problem with someone having a drink; however, I can’t accept kneeling to statues of pagan goddesses or the kissing of “relics” such as human skulls.
You are wrong.
If you kneel before her statue, kiss it, burn incense before it, place a crown of flowers on it and pray before it...
You're worshiping a false goddess.
So...what do you have to say about kissing dry bones?
