Cardinal Walter Kasper continued to defend his proposal to allow Communion for some divorced and remarried Catholics, and to assail critics of that proposal, in a new interview.
The German cardinal said that his critics are fearful that “if you change one point, all would collapse.” Dismissing such fears of a “domino effect,” he said that his critics were displaying “a theological fundamentalism which is not Catholic.”

Divorced and remarried Catholics typically don’t quit going to church. They just join some other church.

...i can see you just ain’t with the program in the post conciliar church...kneeling to receive is going to ‘hold up’ the conga line working it way up the aisle, threatening to miss the breakfast and dinner early bird specials...and receiving on the tongue...ewww...
It must be considering that these communities treat simple literalism as if it were leprosy and spend all their time trying to get intellectuals to convert to chrstianity by begging "don't judge us by those awful people!"
Now I guess Catholics will have to admit divorced and remarried people to communion. Y'know, because nobody wants to be an inbred moron from an Alabama trailer park.

If it does, then why do Catholic clergy and publications spend so much time damning "fundamentalism?" They're far more hostile to "fundamentalism" than they are to homosexuality or abortion.

Liberal Catholics seem to hate Fundamentalist Protestants above and beyond anything else in existence (and "conservative" Catholics aren't far behind them). They can't get enough of liberal Protestants, however.

Correct. Kind of funny in a way. Especially after the article posted about how if you believe in the Bible you’re as good as a muslim. Of course nowadays that is ahead of Protestants in the Catholic Church
