Lou Everett was one of Jehovahs Witnesses for more than 14 years. During that time, he served as a full-time minister as well as other major roles within the congregation. Lous journey to the Catholic Church was truly a rough road traveled.
From Jehovahs Witnesses to Catholicism: My Journey
In 2005, I find myself inside a Catholic church for midnight mass. My future wife, born and raised in the Catholic Church, by my side; silently showing me something that I never thought Id see or feel. At the age of 31, a realization set in that I never would have expected to occur thus begins another part of my journey to the Church, my home.
Peering back into my childhood, I realize that my journey actually began as a child. My father was in the military so our family traveled around quite a bit. I was born in San Francisco, California while my father was stationed there in the Army in 1974. Both of my parents are cradle Catholics and had very different experiences with the Catholic Church. Throughout the various moves from place to place, my parents were contacted by Jehovahs Witnesses. Their message seemed to touch my parents enough to eventually become baptized in 1984 as Jehovahs Witnesses.

Exactly...And would it be too much to assume that JWs and Mormons as well worship the same God as the muzlims and Catholics???
“Being able to take in the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ through the Eucharist is pagan confusion.”
No. It is simply true.
“The eucharist is the vilest abomination on Earth.”
Christ is not a vile abomination and the Eucharist is His Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity.
Just like the bible says.
The Catholic Church is aware of the importance of promoting friendship and respect between men and women of different religious traditions - I wish to repeat this: promoting friendship and respect between men and women of different religious traditions - it also attests the valuable work that the Pontifical Council for interreligious dialogue performs.
It should be noted that your pope did not preach THIS message:
2Co 6:1 We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain.
2Co 6:2 (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)
And in view of that, your pope did and is doing just the opposite from what we are told to do by God thru the apostle Paul:
2Co 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
2Co 6:15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?
2Co 6:16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
2Co 6:17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,
And again:
Rev_18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.
God teaches 'against' inter-religious dialog...Christians are to have no part in it...
May you could explain how you protestants obey that very direct command of Christ.
I fulfill that command by 'drinking' in and consuming everything I can into my soul and spirit that God has revealed to us thru the scriptures...
Act_11:14 Who shall tell thee words, whereby thou and all thy house shall be saved.
Not just a few words taken out of context and mis-understood, but all the words...
Where do you get this information??? And don't say it's from the bible because it's not there...
So Jesus Christ birth is today??? Or should we pretend that Jesus hasn't been born yet???
If Jesus is being crucified right now in any and every Catholic church in the world, then Moses is crossing the Red Sea today...
It certainly is not a testimony of Scripture. He was raised Catholic, and thus it is no surprise that he was spiritually dead, and thus he joined a cult in which the leadership is the supreme authority, with both Scripture and adherents being made servants to support it, as they can do no other.
He then becomes disenchanted with that one and joins another group in which the leadership is the supreme authority, with both Scripture and adherents being made servants to support it, as they can do no other.
According to the recourse a RC has to respond to Scriptural refutation, it means one of 3 things, but really only one,
1. It means any interpretation that is not officially (which itself can be differently interpreted) taught by Rome. Except when RCs engage in such, including that 2Pt. 1:20 is referring to this.
2. Or it means any interpretation that serves to contradict official RC teaching, but which would mean Prot interpretations of Scripture that support teachings held by both Caths and Prots are not personal interpretation.
3. Thus the RC censure against personal interpretation really means any interpretation of a Prot, which enables the RC to dismiss it.
All of which is based upon the fallacious premise of the assured veracity of Rome, that an assuredly infallible magisterium is essential for the determination and assurance of Truth (so that laity cannot realize this thru Scriptural substantiation and be right in conflict with Rome), and that Rome alone is the assuredly correct interpreter of Divine revelation Scripture as the historical provider and steward of it.
Only what she says it consists of and means has authority for the RC, thus she is the supreme authority and basis from which all argumentation from faithful RCs flows - even though they may initially invoke Scripture as if it was determinative of doctrine. Be not deceived: doctrinally Scripture is only a servant to be employed to support RC teaching, just as with cultists such as the so-called Jehovah's Witnesses.
The Lord surely has compassion on those who bounce from one spiritual trap to another. Hopefully the man will rest in the finished work of Christ eventually and leave the blind guides to fall into their own ditch!
"Sorrow is better than laughter: for by the sadness of the countenance the heart is made better.
The heart of the wise is in the house of mourning; but the heart of fools is in the house of mirth.
It is better to hear the rebuke of the wise, than for a man to hear the song of fools." (Eccl. 7:3-5 AV).
11 And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:
So much for that false theory...The priests need to pack up and go home...There's no function for them in the church...
12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice (once) for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;
And there's not been a priest or pope since who has the power to get him up off that throne and down into a wafer...
“And there’s not been a priest or pope since who has the power to get him up off that throne and down into a wafer... “
+1
Nor a need to ever repeat the sacrifice.
“It is done.” Jesus
Here's just one example:
It was a religious custom for 'medieval Christians in the catholic church' to regard relics as an important tool in attaining salvation just as much as they regarded holy doctrine.............they believed that if they wanted to be holy they needed holy 'things/ relics' to help them....Today catholics continue to have these medieval beliefs and associations with relics...oftentimes showing affectionate gestures toward them.
catholic priest bowing and praying in front of the remains of a corpse relic....This is an abomination in front of God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
The relic of the Heart of St. John Mary Vianney at St. Anthony's Catholic Church..note they are bowing before with hands folded in prayer form.
Here's the supposed foot of mary Magdalene on display as a relic
And here catholics are bowing before the arm of Francis Xavier, a priest from Spain.
Pope Paul kissing the vile holding another priests blood
And another priest bowing before this relic of blood
If you have to ask, you wouldn't understand the answer anyway.
And 500 years of prot beliefs - truth?
What's truth is Jesus and Scripture, not *prot beliefs*.
When *prot beliefs* line up with Scripture, they are correct because SCRIPTURE is true.
When *prot beliefs* don't line up with Scripture, they are incorrect because SCRIPTURE is true.
Pagan practices
