Really trying to avoid hyperbole here, but this is quite possibly the single most bigoted, ridiculous statement I've ever read in 13 years of posting on this website.

I can appreciate your feelings on the matter. But the fact remains, that a Christianity divided does not serve us in ridding ourselves of Islam. I am in agreement that it is a threat that needs to be contended, not only in the geo-political sphere but a spiritual one as well. I fail to see how Protestantism can contribute to that in the end. No matter what doctrines we hold in common. That doesn't mean protestants make good companions in the fox hole. And why? Because they have another agenda. A protestant can say it's all about Christ, but at its basic level Protestantism is about rejection of Rome.

I see Islam for what it is. The problem is I've seen what Protestantism has done to us over the last 500 years and its simply not equipped to deal with this. Too much relativism. Every man an island, scripture interpreted to mean how it speaks to my heart, etc. Inevitably leading to such moral decay that quite frankly a protestant can't speak authoritatively on anything to a religion that is all about authority. I said in another post, The Catholic Church has been given the command here on earth, so if protestants are serious about fighting Islam and the threat it poses they really need to fall in line, not to put to fine a point on it.

I do know one thing. After all this is over, there will only be the Catholic Church. Only the Church has the divine promise of perpetuity until the end of the world.

I am a former catholic, and love Catholic people, however the division brought about by Protestantism was perhaps the the greatest thing to hit the western world, after the work our Lord Jesus did. The northern nations that we are part of the reformation quickly flourished and outpaced other nations in all respects.

The Catholic Church became corrupt for power and created a system of control and traditions, rather than the furtherance of the Gospel. Otherwise they would have printed God's word in every language. The Catholic innovations of Mary & saint worship, celibacy, transubstantiation, papal infallibility, nicolaitanism, lying signs and wonders, latin mass, etc. kept the western world in the Dark Ages.

Now churches can check and balance each other and point biblical blame when a church moves away from the word of God. We can still join together politically when fighting a common enemy, but spiritually we can never go back to a corrupt church. How about this current pope excusing homosexuality? Is this not a travesty?

Boo double HOO!

When (if ever) are you going to ADMIT that it was problems in the leadership of your chosen religion that CAUSED men to come up with PROTESTS in the first place?

Ya really think that Luther had nothing better to do than to IMAGINE those things he nailed to your doors?
