I am a former catholic, and love Catholic people, however the division brought about by Protestantism was perhaps the the greatest thing to hit the western world, after the work our Lord Jesus did. The northern nations that we are part of the reformation quickly flourished and outpaced other nations in all respects.

The Catholic Church became corrupt for power and created a system of control and traditions, rather than the furtherance of the Gospel. Otherwise they would have printed God's word in every language. The Catholic innovations of Mary & saint worship, celibacy, transubstantiation, papal infallibility, nicolaitanism, lying signs and wonders, latin mass, etc. kept the western world in the Dark Ages.

Now churches can check and balance each other and point biblical blame when a church moves away from the word of God. We can still join together politically when fighting a common enemy, but spiritually we can never go back to a corrupt church. How about this current pope excusing homosexuality? Is this not a travesty?

Thank you for making my point. Like I said, why would I want to share a foxhole with someone who might just shoot me in the back? Protestants are simply not serious about this issue enough on a spiritual level to deal with it. Inevitably it'll come down to, "Nope. Sorry. Can't go there with you."

And I'm sorry, political action based on a shared common interest just doesn't cut it as a solution anymore. Are we nations or are we members of the Body of Christ.

I'm no apologist for Pope Francis, he can say what he wants. But what he cannot do is err and teach something that is contradictory to faith and morals. We have the Holy Spirit to thank for that. Can the same be said for the protestant who finds scriptural warrant for whatever deviancy tickles his or her fancy? And if not, whose to correct him or her? What authority?

In its haste to overthrow the legitimate authority of the Church Protestantism has allowed Islam to sneak into their house and slit their throats. So much for those cherished European protestant nations.
