Pope Francis, "If Mary is not your Mother, you are an orphan!"

Pope Francis has been a breath of fresh air for many Catholics seeking greater liberty and a growing concern for conservative Christians who take issue with his comments about homosexuality and other cultural issues.
But the pontiff's latest statement is sparking an uproar from believers around the world. Pope Francis sent a tweet Tuesday that absolutely violates the truth of Scripture:
"The Christian who does not feel that the Virgin Mary is his or her mother is an orphan," Pope Francis tweeted.
As of the time I wrote this column it had been retweeted about 4,000 times and many of the responses were in appropriately unkind. It's not appropriate to attack the pope for his beliefs. It's more appropriate to share the truth...

Elsie, the thread was posted to dishonor Mary. Every Catholic here knows that. Because you are not a Catholic and have no special love for Christ’s mother, you do not see the dishonor.

All pagans get the “good vibes” from their rituals and icons. Do you get that when you look at all the dead bones also?

In a similar manner, my love for Mary does not in any way take love away from Jesus. It is entirely possible to do both. No one can serve two masters.

But essentially, without His suffering and death, there would be no burial and raising from the dead. On this the feast of Our Lady of Sorrows...
Without HER sorrow; we'd have no Jesus today.
After all; she DID suffer great pain during childbirth - Just like the bible says:
Genesis 3:16
Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.

If you loved and respected Mary as much as Jesus did/does, youd see the dishonor straight away. I dont know what to say regarding the fact you cant see it. Is this an admission that you cannot find any to point out?

*NO ONE can love and respect Mary as much as Jesus did/does. But as Catholics we try to emulate him. Yeah; the bible is replete with examples of Jesus talking to His mom like you guys do!

Wow. My late daughter went to Austria and Germany with her high school band years ago. I was astonished at her pictures of piles of bones in a church basement. No decent burial. I wondered why they were just stacked up like that. I have forgotten which country it was. Was sad.

You are a sad person in that you cannot see greatness where it resides. You are such an imaginative person; but are unable to PROVE where DISHONOR to Mary resides.

There's no dishonor in stating that Mary is not my mother and AI am not an orphan because she is not my *mother*.
I am a daughter of God, His Spirit within me crying *Abba, Father*.
I have been adopted into His family when I was born again.

Yup. I tend to get good vibes from the very greatest of Western Civilization. I’m funny like that. You, I guess, would rather look at paintings of dogs playing poker.

In this exchange, the tradition has long taught, He also entrusted all of us to her maternal care. WHAT?
The text READS she was placed in JOHN's care; NOT the other way around!
Wow!
Catholicism has REALLY messed with your cognitive abilities in certain areas!!!
