Pope Francis, "If Mary is not your Mother, you are an orphan!"

Pope Francis has been a breath of fresh air for many Catholics seeking greater liberty and a growing concern for conservative Christians who take issue with his comments about homosexuality and other cultural issues.
But the pontiff's latest statement is sparking an uproar from believers around the world. Pope Francis sent a tweet Tuesday that absolutely violates the truth of Scripture:
"The Christian who does not feel that the Virgin Mary is his or her mother is an orphan," Pope Francis tweeted.
As of the time I wrote this column it had been retweeted about 4,000 times and many of the responses were in appropriately unkind. It's not appropriate to attack the pope for his beliefs. It's more appropriate to share the truth...

Just the simple admission that the protestant reformation was due to "leadership problems" in the Church and not issues of doctrine or truth.
Counter Reformation: Management style or Doctrine?

I'm much more concerned on how he was wrong and the ensuing consequences. Oh; me too!
What was he wrong about?

I guess it IS your intention to completely ignore this...
It's YOUR chosen church. Does IT claim that is enough?

I didn’t say he was fake. He painted fake pictures. Made up images.

It spreads the lie that you can be your own authority on what is true. Catholicism ... ... spreads the lie that only IT is the authority on what is true.

But I do maintain the Protestantism, it's theology, the philosophy it has spawned has wrecked western civilization and its people to such a degree that it cannot muster up the courage or conviction to defend itself from Islam.Go ahead an 'maintain' it all you want; but HISTORY proves you WRONG.

You have no idea how ignorant you sound. Anyone who has faced the David up close and personal knows that God was speaking through Michelangelo - same with his Pieta. So tender, so merciful.
I guess Bob Ross trumps that, doesn’t he?
God also speaks through Mozart. Being a smart guy, God chooses to keep silent in the last few centuries.

Catholics worship Mary. That has been shown to be the case right here in this thread.

Jesus is not minimizing the love for His mother in this passage. It is opening the doors to an eternal family, those who do God’s will. Mary is not excluded from this family as she did God’s will. To read this and see it as a dismissal of her is kind of missing the bigger picture.

Nice try at obfuscation. Nothing was said about His love for His mother. Here's you statement I responded to.
>>the tradition has long taught, He also entrusted all of us to her maternal care.<<
That's the made up part. Please don't try that tactic of trying to change what I said on me again.

That's a really loose interpretation of Psalm 103.
There's nothing in the passage in Revelation that indicates that the saints in heaven were being prayed to.
Those in heaven before us are righteous.
Those on earth in Christ Jesus are righteous. Born again believers have the righteousness of Christ imputed to them so God sees them as righteous as He sees Jesus.

I did not mean to say Adoration is NOT the same as worship. It's right there in the Bible: "All generations will adore me."

. Im guessing because we ask Mary to intercede for us (see previously listed biblical examples of this) that you would consider this worship. But Catholic prayers to Mary don't simply ask her to intercede for them.
They outright ask her for things as they are supposed to be asking the Father.
