Nothing like a straw man argument.
Where?
Where is the straw man? Be specific.
I know this story.
If you swap 'boy' for 'injured golfer', and 'converted' for 'had to re-learn swing', then 'priest' would become 'Sam Sneed'!!
This isn't the greatest story ever told. It is the greatest golfer story ever told.
True story.
This is a primary dividing line between Protestants and Catholics.
One of a very few actually. I know Protestant ministers who have had long discussions with Catholic priests, and disagreement over the status of Mary was one of a handful of serious divergences.
If we asked her I’m sure she’d tell us to patch it up and get on with her Son’s work.
This is not a straw man arguments. There are countless such stories. Mary is the most perfect of all God’s creation heaven and earth and even before His mission on earth began, it was at her suggestion water was turned into wine. That’s no straw. Anyone who does not believe in the Miracle at Lourdes and Fatima are condemned to oblivion. The final words from the Cross: “Mother behold thy Son: Son behold thy Mother.” Having emptied Himself on the Cross, Christ finally gave all that was left on earth to all humanity, His own mother!
Nothing like a straw man argument.
The angel said Hail Mary nothing more than a greeting.
Full of grace.
God found her to be fit to raise his son.
Blessed among women, she was not blessed because she bare the son of God but baring the son of God is how she was blessed.
She was blessed more than any other woman and Jesus was her blessing.
Including "trying to despise her" a contrived story.
