The Almighty will know His own. They have had ample opportunity to repent. They glory in the slaughter of the faithful of Christ. They see dialogue as weakness--it gives them more fervor in their evil ways.

I of course would be very surprised if the Bishops called for blood, but who do they want to dialogue with? There is not a parity in Islam. There is no one leader. They are a bunch of 7th century nut jobs.

Innocent Muslims? That's a loaded couple of words that defies description.

Does make me wonder whether the left of the Church did indeed push Pope Benedict out. But even with Benedict, we lacked a Thatcher and a Reagan.

Muslim militants would no doubt be delighted to think that when shown the severed heads of their brethren in Iraq, leaders of the Catholic Church can respond only by fretting about missed opportunities for dialogue.
