G-d's word is amazing. 3500 years ago He shows his sense of humor by giving the ancient Hebrews a word for "violence"....."HAMAS"!
Ancient Hebrew word for violence
It is spelled God, not G-d!
It is spelled God, not G-d!
Think of the Muzzies as a living museum of how people treated one another before the Flood.
>> “It is spelled God, not G-d!” <<
.
Actually, it is spelled Yehova, or Yah for short!
.
>> “Students of the Bible have known this for many years.” <<
.
Yes, and those same students also know that Yehova commanded Israel to totally annihilate Amalek, but they didn’t, and that is why Amalek is the thorn in the side of Judah, and will continue to be until Yeshua returns as the conquering King with his angels, and finishes the job.

>> “The Hebrew word baraq means lightning.” <<
.
Actually, it means blessed. You will find it in the Hebrew scriptures corresponding to Numbers 6:24
Barak etah Yehova Elohim...
Blessed is Yehova our God.
.
>> “Think of the Muzzies as a living museum of how people treated one another before the Flood.” <<
.
The days before the flood were like today. Technologically advanced, but totally rejecting God.

Jews deliberately omit the ‘o’ out of reverence for God’s Name, lest it be misused or erased.
Do some research next time so you don’t come across as a total jackass.
...and in modern Hebrew the translation of “arrogant, traitorous jackass” is “johnkerry.”
Number one, I’m not Jewish. Number two, my bible spells it God, not G-d. Thanks for your insightful comment, jackass.

I know you aren’t Jewish. I am telling you about a Jewish tradition and why God’s name is not spelled or typed on the Internet or anywhere else out of reverence and caution. If His Name is written on a piece of paper or a blackboard it can be erased, misused or crumpled up and thrown in the garbage.
The Bible is obviously a different story since people generally don’t throw it out or toss it across a room or treat it in an any irreverent fashion.
There are Jews right here on Free Republic who omit the ‘o’. I’m sure you must have seen it time and time again.
Strong's Concordance
baraq: lightning
I do that for my Jewish friends :-)
Good point! I would not want to be on their team when Jesus comes again. The lamb becomes a lion to judge the world in righteousness.
Amen! Amalek, Edom, and those who align themselves with these groups. Obadiah, Isaiah 63, Zephaniah, Ezekiel 35, et. go into detail on this subject...
The acronym has an ‘alef. The Biblical word doesn’t.
