I am coming up on my first year as an ordained minister in a continuing Anglican church, and I have noticed that participating on political forums (even when the topic is religious) I find that my opinions and postings more often than not generate more hatred than anything else. Among the things I often hear are that the laity are the real priests and that I am a Pharisee, that my vocation disqualifies me from offering an opinion on anything Christian because I am too narrow minded, and (my personal favorite) because I look too Catholic I must be a child molester.
Are these people really Christians?
No
Sierra Club — not Catholic
Serra Club — is Catholic and promotes vocations to the priesthood and religious life.
Please notice the difference in spelling.
It is named after Father Junipero Serra who founded all the missions in California by walking from place to place.
Here is the SERRA Club website.....http://serraus.org/
Did you notice the difference in spelling?
Acts 1 And when they were come in, they went up into an upper room, where abode both Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon Zelotes, and Judas the brother of James. 14 These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren. 15 And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples, and said, (the number of names together were about an hundred and twenty,) 16 Men and brethren, this scripture must needs have been fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost by the mouth of David spake before concerning Judas, which was guide to them that took Jesus. 17 For he was numbered with us, and had obtained part of this ministry. 18 Now this man purchased a field with the reward of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst asunder in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out. 19 And it was known unto all the dwellers at Jerusalem; insomuch as that field is called in their proper tongue, Aceldama, that is to say, The field of blood. 20 For it is written in the book of Psalms, Let his habitation be desolate, and let no man dwell therein: and his bishoprick let another take. 21 Wherefore of these men which have companied with us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us, 22 Beginning from the baptism of John, unto that same day that he was taken up from us, must one be ordained to be a witness with us of his resurrection. 23 And they appointed two, Joseph called Barsabas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias. 24 And they prayed, and said, Thou, Lord, which knowest the hearts of all men, shew whether of these two thou hast chosen, 25 That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place. 26 And they gave forth their lots; and the lot fell upon Matthias; and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.
There is a video on the second link — listen for awhile.

It would be much more accurate to state that the Catholics hate us, both historically to the present. A sobering non-inflammatory documentary at the link. Hold your heads high you Christian non-Catholics. Catholics, not so much. A Catholic priest provides many of the details in the film.
"Protestants" not "fellow Protestants"? You've already stated that you are a first year ordained minister in a "continuing Anglican church". If that's not Protestant, what is?
“21 Wherefore of these men which have companied with us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us, 22 Beginning from the baptism of John, unto that same day that he was taken up from us, must one be ordained to be a witness with us of his resurrection. “
Excellent!!!
Now you know the pattern revealed in Scripture.
Any Apostolic succession must involve two things:
1. “which have companied with us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us, 22 Beginning from the baptism of John, unto that same day that he was taken up from us, must one be ordained to be a witness with us of his resurrection.”
Rules out any man today.
2. Pick two that meet the criteria. “And they appointed two, Joseph called Barsabas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias.”
3. Pray! “Andd they prayed, and said, Thou, Lord, which knowest the hearts of all men, shew whether of these two thou hast chosen”
4. Do this to replace Judas! “That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place.”
3. Cast lots - “And they gave forth their lots; and the lot fell upon Matthias;”
Judas was officially replace. It will never happen again. Nor will there ever be a man that accompanied the Apostles from the beginning of John’s baptism through the resurrection.
And beyond that, there is no Apostolic succession. The foundation is complete.
There is truth in what you say, yet the church also tends to reflect the personality of its pastor, and thus few actually go to where the masses are and outreach to them - which esp. in the independent cynical and noncommittal society we are in is needed - but instead expect them to come to church.
Its no happening folks. If you realized life in Christ, by being truly born again, then the directive is, "Go, stand and speak in the temple to the people all the words of this life." (Acts 5:20)
And the temple today is mainly the sports stadium, etc.
With a handle as Rome2000, i can expect that is what you see, but as one who has been actually active on the RF for long time, i can attest that the attacks on the Pope and Catholics is overall due to incessant advertising and promotion of that elitist church, which used FR as Catholic news and apologetics service.
Even though it has results in the presumptions of Rome being exposed for what they are.
No, next question.
Mind reading again?
i can expect that is what you see
How can you see what he sees?
The truth is friend, I don’t need to go to Christ through a priest as He is the only priest that I need. While I applaud some of the awe and Holy ‘fear’ that a system such as yours points out in our God, we do not need a system. Jesus is enough. We must all repent and believe in Him. That is the way, not a system of popes, and sacraments (as important as that is to some to remind them of the sacrifice that Christ has made). -JS

Well seeing as you all are members of the "priesthood of believers" then you have a responsibility to do all those things.
Read the Acts of the Apostles. It clearly shows how all these duties were distributed.
At least that is what this Catholic has been told by a number of his separated Brethren on numerous occasions.
Personally I believe that any one that has the ability to get an M. Div. is worthy of my respect even if he is not a member of my faith. On the other hand the guys that rent a store front and a couple hundred folding chairs for "Bob's House O' god", not so much.
As well as more unity in core Scriptural beliefs among those who hold most strongly to what RCs protest (that of Scripture as literally being the word of God being the supreme authority, versus sola ecclesia). those whom Rome counts and treats as members in life and in death, and by which Rome shows what she really believes. (Mt. 7:20; Ja, 2:18)
Meanwhile, under the alternative model for authority, in which the church says is the supreme authority (as only what it says Scripture consists of and means is assuredly correct), then you have competing churches, each interpreting the evidence as supporting them, and taking the problem of variant personal interpretations to a corporate level.
The question is, which is correct. RCs tend to argue that an assuredly (if conditionally) infallible magisterium is essential for determination and assurance of Truth (including writings and men being of God).
And or to fulfill promises of Divine presence, providence of Truth, and preservation of faith, and authority.
And for support that being the historical instruments and stewards of Divine revelation (oral and written) means that Rome is that assuredly infallible magisterium. Thus those who dissent from the latter are in rebellion to God.
Does this fairly represent what you hold to or in what way does it differ?
Peter had the authority to appoint another apostle. He had the authority to appoint successors.
And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
Why are you posting a video that says the Catholic Church is Satanic?
Aren’t you aware that the Catholic Church was founded by Christ on the Apostles so they could carry on his work?
In the Gospel of John, where He is giving to His disciples the Holy Spirit, just as God breathed on Adam and gave him the breath of life, Jesus breathed on His disciples in John chapter 20: “’Peace to you! As the Father sent me, I also send you.’ And when He had said this, He breathed on them and said, ‘Receive the Holy Spirit’” (John 20:21-22, NKJV).
With that link are you saying that you hate Catholics?
"History of the Catholic Church Past to Present" aka "Proof of Satanic Roman Catholic Religion" definitely non-inflammatory...
All you have to do is repent. So simple.
” They have all-but admitted that their basic theological position is that the Catholic Church has it wrong... lets go find another answer.”
Hogwash. I’ve been a Baptist for 40+ years, and I’ve never heard ANY Baptist use the Catholic Church to reference theology! Frankly, we don’t CARE what Catholics teach!
In every discussion I’ve heard, we simply ask, “What does the Bible say?”
” Thats why most Protestants who are comfortable with the ecumenical movement are Arminian.”
Most Protestants have never heard of Arminius. However, frankly, I’ve never met a Cavinist who believed in Calvin’s doctrines at the time of salvation. Odd, isn’t it?
When was the last time you heard a pastor preach, “If God decides to save you, you cannot resist! If he does not, you cannot be saved - and God hates most of you! Now - who is God compelling to come forward tonight?”
As for the Anglicans: I see no sign the Anglican Church believes scripture is the Word of God, and not just some dusty old rules that don’t apply to modern man. Indeed, by having “priests”, it rejects the teaching of the New Testament for the teaching of man.
Do I or other Baptists spend a lot of time worrying about it? No, but neither do I give much weight to someone’s theological views if they insist they hold an office the New Testament never mentions...
