Hi - I come to you humbly asking for your thoughts and prayers for our daughter. She just went abroad as she starts her Junior year from Gettysburg College and is in Melbourne, Australia. She has been there just over 2 weeks.
Things were going great until she called this morning to say she was in the ER because she hasn't felt well, has had a headache for 2 days, and feels like she has been hit by a truck.
Long story short, she is being treated for a bacterial infection and the hospital is bringing in infectious disease doctors. Her temp was 104. She is on antibiotics and feeling better...but we are so worried.
We live in Baltimore and I feel helpless. She is a great student and has made friends, two of which have stayed with her almost the whole time. The logistics are being handled thru an organization called Arcadia, and they have been tremendous, both in Australia and the US office.
We have a wonderful support system (family and friends) praying for her and have felt their prayers as my husband and I feel so helpless....but I would truly covet and be evergrateful if you feel led to pray for us and our daughter, Christina.
I apologize ahead of time if I can't respond personally....please know I will try. God bless you.
Praying.
I just read your message. Great news for a Sunday afternoon.
Thanks for the update and great news it is :-) It sounds as though she got better care there than she would have, here!
Great news! Thanks for the update and thankful to Him for answered prayers.
Ditto what metmom said about the probiotics....very good advice.
Good call, metmom...thanks. I’m going to email her. I’m sure they have probiotics somewhere around her. I looked up the antibiotic they gave her and it seems like a pretty strong one.
thanks for hanging in there with prayer, Jane.
thank you for prayers, Gamecock...she seems to be doing great. :) We attribute all the prayers to her well-being.
one more big THANK YOU to you guys...and all the other FReepers :)
Solo Deo Gloria!
Praise God! We are continuing to pray & hope that she’s 100% better very soon.
I am very happy to read this good news! God is good!
