If you aren’t sexually screwed-up, you are nothing.

Why can’t he just join the Pres-boes. They like that stuff. This man is not Catholic, regardless of his feeeeeeeelings.

God loves her/him/ it. Without question. And as any truly loving parent, He has certain expectations or at least hopes for His children. ........

She also began the process of joining the Carmelite Order of sisters.

Not 100% sure, but don't you have to be Catholic to join this bunch?

Born a hermaphrodite — meaning she had both male and female reproductive organs

note the above, please.

Beat me to it. She doesn’t qualify as a “bride of Christ”?

Then why are they using the term “transgendered”? And here I thought that the new politically-correct term for that was “intersex”.

She is a hermaphrodite - not transgendered.

One is physical, one is in your head.

But I am interested, does anyone know whether hermaphrodites are genetically male or female? How does this work?

Yeah, this turns it into a different story. This person had no choice in how she was born although I don’t get the rest of it.

Duh. As if anyone has a choice in “how they were born.” I mean this person truly has a medical problem.

The gerbilist who spewed out the title has no vocabulary.
This isn’t a transsexual. And since she isn’t a word she obviously isn’t a transgendered either.

This is merely someone with an intersex condition who had corrective surgery.

If she has mosaicism there will be some genes of each type.
It is a complex condition.

The first person who isn’t absolutely normal female has become a nun.
This is a hermaphrodite who became a nun, after trying to be “male” for 30 years. In this case, it is someone physically ambiguous who chose religious life after choosing which gender to identify as.
However, the article makes it sound like a transgendered dude (as in a real dude, with or without surgery) has been accepted as a nun.

Hermaphrodites have both genitalia - in some cases one or the other not as developed. According to my Mom, a 91 year old retired RN, before more sophisticated testing, doctors made the determination based on the appearance of the genitalia. So genetic girls could end up as guys and vice versa. Now, they can look at the chromosomes and determine the sex of the child. Though who knows how that would work these days with the “I’ve always wanted a boy, a girl, a ???”
