Islamic prayers to be held at the Vatican

For the first time in history, Islamic prayers and readings from the Quran will be heard at the Vatican on Sunday, in a move by Pope Francis to usher in peace between Israelis and Palestinians.

Francis issued the invitation to Israeli President Shimon Peres and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas during his visit last week to Jordan, Israel, and the Palestinian Authority.

Abbas, Peres, and Francis will be joined by Jewish, Christian and Islamic religious leaders, a statement released by Peres’s spokesperson said, according to the Times of Israel.

Holy See officials on Friday said the evening prayers would be a “pause in politics” and had no political aim other than to rekindle the desire for Israeli-Palestinian peace at the political and popular level, according to the Associated Press.

Low expectations

The Vatican will broadcast a live feed of the event to viewers across the world.

However, expectations for the event should be kept low, according to Rev. Pierbattista Pizzaballa, the custodian of Catholic Church property in the Holy Land.

[No-one should think] “peace will suddenly break out on Monday, or that peace is any closer,” AP reported him as saying.

On Friday, the Pope met with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, and discussed ways of promoting peace and stability in Asia the Vatican said in a statement.

Through Isaac, was God’s Promise to Abraham (Christ) to be fulfilled - literally (lineage of Jews) and spiritually(Christians grafted in through faith). Ishmael was Man’s attempt to fulfill God’s promise in the Flesh. Satan loves that. Satan will fail.

The Pope can change Catholic doctrine, just not all at once. He and his priests have to do it brick by brick, and it can take decades or centuries, but it happens. I believe either Mary’s “Immaculate Conception” or her “perpetual virginity” was established this way (or quite possibly both). First introduce the idea as possibility, speculate on it, and then many years later when people have grown used to the idea (that is, it’s taken root), then declare it dogma.

“Ishmael was Man’s attempt to fulfill God’s promise in the Flesh.”

Well put.

Muslims will see preaching Allah to the Catholic Pope inside the Vatican, as a territorial victory

True enough, but it's really more than that. Islam is severely predestinarian. Kismet, fate, the way that chance events express the will of Allah, all extremely significant in the muslim mind. You see, the President and the Pope both making these territorial concessions, as you put it so well, are an expression of kismet. In their mind, it is as if Allah is telling the muslims its time to go for the whole thing, the time of the caliphate of the 12th imam is finally here, when world conquest can finally be realized.

Now I have no doubt that there are more cynical minds behind this orchestrated "collusion of the fates." Perhaps never in history has it been so easy for so few criminals to move so many human minds in a single wrong direction.

Yet in back of it all, God is still sovereign, and in the end He will laugh at those who thought they were so clever. There is light at the end of this tunnel we are in, and it is the Light of Heaven.

On a “fourth person of the Holy Trinity,” back in 2006 I was fairly new in really knowing the Lord, which came mostly from reading the whole Bible, and I was open to anything that seemed to come from Bible-believing Christians. So I watched EWTN for a few years. And at the close of one program, a host actually referred to “the mother, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit” (possibly ordered the Father before mother, though.”) I don’t remember anything else but it being said (and I heard it again in a repeat presentation so I know for sure it was said) . I just wasn’t wary of the Catholic Church, then, so I noted it with disapproval but didn’t consider it deeply like I started to after some years of encountering disturbing things coming out of the Catholic Church.

EWTN has even less authority than the pope

I had thought about elaborating a little more on how all these victories are seen by the single minded Muslims, as a steady path of ascendancy, as their modern break-out, but this time globally.

I thought that 9/11 would mean that we would start rolling them back, instead, in 13 years they have massively altered Western civilization and in many irreversible ways.

You are right. Some “Christians” are actually calling God the father, the mother, the son and the Holy Spirit these days. I ran across it a couple days ago on a blog.

It is insane.

Yes, and if one thinks about how Islam likely came about, it’s from the flesh, too. Mohammed denied Jesus, which would have to mean he was proud, believing he was righteous in himself, could work for salvation, and didn’t need a Savior. And after rejecting the Lord, the idea of salvation being “of the Jews,” from “the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob,” was possibly repugnant to him as a son (if he was, not 100% sure) of Ishmael. He would be going after the flesh, then, holding family of the flesh to be the way rather than family by God’s Spirit, and believed Satan’s lies which formed the Quran, and, deceived, he took “the revelations” to be divine. Yet the lie of Islam is disguised as truth, so like Christianity Islam is to be spread beyond Ishmael’s children.

For one example, look at the “Immaculate Conception” of Mary. It went from being an open question, with the Catholic Church refusing to take a position on it, to a dogma over some centuries. And from reading the Bible and especially the Gospels, and then the New Testament, it’s clear the Mary was in no way any sort of object to be focused on. Jesu Himself addressed her as Woman, and when given the opportunity to hold her up publicly (when a woman referred to her in blessing who breastfed Him) He didn’t, not even partly, which would have been to agree then change the focus. Instead, he corrected the woman and changed the focus.

Somehow, I just can't picture St. Peter being okay with letting pagans pray in any of the congregations he might have set up. “Hey, guys”, he'd say, “Everyone sit still, bow your head and pray along with Abdullah while he offers worship to a demon.” Nope, can't see it!

I think some people refuse to believe anything that can remotely seem negative to their religion and its leaders. Of course, whatever is posted will be swept away as biased, mistranslated, misunderstood, taken out of context, put there by haters/bigots, etc. - anything but admit something went terribly wrong somewhere. That IS a bridge too far.

Do we look to signs and wonders for the truth?

Mat 24:23-24 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. (24) For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

Is that wafer in the monstrance Christ? "Look! Here is Christ, or there?" Believe it not.

Gal 1:8-9 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. (9) As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

Strong words, I know, and I truly wish I did not have to repeat them. But these are the times we live in. There is only one Gospel that can save lost sinners, the Gospel of God's boundless grace, forgiveness in the once for all sacrifice of Jesus. It is our souls that need healing, not our bodies. No, more than just healing. Our souls are dead in sins. It is resurrection we need. Not the washing of the body with water, but the new birth, the making of a new creation in Christ. And though such resurrected lives will surely overflow with a love of doing good, and love to God and others, that life begins, not with good deeds, but with a sovereign act of God, Who calls the undeserving sinner to "come forth" from the stench of his grave of sin, and step into the light of life in Christ. Amazing grace, how sweet the sound ...

Peace,

SR

My husband has passed but I still have the Koran. Naturally, it's green.

If a Satan worshiper gave your husband a Satanic bible as a gesture of goodwill, would you keep that, too? Have you ever read anything from the Koran? Have you gotten to the parts that say Jesus is not the Son of God or that Christians and Jews must be killed or forced to pay a tax if they will not convert?

confusing? Prayers are being offered to satan in the vatican. If I were a Catholic, I would now be an ex-Catholic. One does not worship in an apostate church.....
