However, in Roman Catholicism salvation is not by faith alone in Christ alone. In Roman Catholicism, that which is necessary for salvation includes the church (Catechism of the Catholic Church 846), baptism (CCC 1257), penance (CCC 980), sacraments (CCC 1129), service and witness to the faith (CCC 1816), keeping the ten commandments (CCC 2036, 2068, 2070), and detachment from riches (CCC 2556).
In other words, Roman Catholicism teaches works righteousness and because it does, anyone who seeks salvation in the Roman Catholic system will never find it.
So, Roman Catholics must repent of the false doctrines of the Roman Catholic Church and trust in Christ alone by faith alone for the forgiveness of his or her sins. There is no other way.
"Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law." (Rom. 3:28). "For what does the scripture say? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness." (Rom. 4:3). "But to the one who does not work, but believes in Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is reckoned as righteousness," (Rom. 4:5).
This entire subject matter is T-I-R-E-S-O-M-E.
I have lived in the South with many incredibly racist people (who have expressed in my lifetime that “Black people” have no souls).
They are very SELF-RIGHTEOUS — not righteous — but they can tell the day and the hour that they were saved and are going to heaven regardless of their actions, because “I was saved through my faith in Jesus Christ.”
A close relative, married for the 4th time now, is one of those “saved people” whose own mother called blacks “cockroaches” until the day she died in her 80’s. She swore she was saved too, took joy in belittling her daughter until her death also. But she was saved, don’t you know? She also didn’t mind criticizing Catholics and the Pope on a daily basis as well.

I think I’ll go with Mother Theresa’s response to “being saved and going to heaven.” She said, “Who am I to judge, particularly concerning myself? I will go to heaven through God’s mercy alone.”
Only HE judges.

Many Years ago I went to work for a Christian company, the owner was real deal, not one of those phonies who slap a fish on their logo and rip people off, he walked the walk and talked the talk. Not so some of his employees, a number were well like you. My first week one of them heard I was Catholic and told me I would never go to Heaven. The first thing I said was “Wow, does the Pope Know about this?”, the second was to tell him to worry a little more about his own soul and salvation and a lot less about mine.

I will go out on a limb here and say that there are some saved Roman Catholics. I have my suspicion that some here on FR are wriiten in the book of life. (Not naming names.) For many here I fear for their eternal souls. I know several IRL who I know are saved.
But if they are saved it is in spite of the RCC, not because of it.
Which is the belief o Catholics, which we solemnly profess every Sunday, and many of us, every day and with all our hearts..
The question is - Can those who lie about Catholics be saved?
The horror, the horror! Can you just imagine a religion that teaches its adherents that they must be righteous people?
