I find Matt Slick to be as offensive and arrogant as he sounds on that recording.

Speaking of recordings...

And am grateful to people like them. Often I print out what they say and delve into the Bible to confirm and study it and pray over understanding it.

Watch out; or you'll be accused of being a Berean!

Others will delve into their FOOTNOTES and writings of the Fathers...

(We don’t scream it with all-caps, however, nor do we consider the word religion to require quotations, although your attitude in doing so is very much in keeping with the venomous hubris of these recent attack threads.)

Your holier than thouness is noted; even though you have no GODlike figure to refer to.

Yes if they confess their sins and convert to the One, True, Church.

Your exclusiveness is noted...

Jesus had no brothers, he had no sisters. End of story.

Has to be, doesn't it??? Or your Catholic religion would completely fall apart...

From chapter 1 of Luke from your own Catholic Douay-Rheims bible...

36 And behold thy cousin Elizabeth, she also hath conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her that is called barren

Supposedly this is the English translation of the Catholic Jerome's Latin translation supposedly from the LXX that supposedly was written by 72 God picked scholars who chose to use the Greek word for COUSIN...

It's in your own bible and you guys keep denying it...You falsely claim that brother and brethren and sister mean cousin...Obviously no one in Jerome's time believed that...

So we can believe your modern day religion or we can believe the bible...And of course we will believe the words of God instead of your religion...

He also could have been a half brother from an earlier.marriage of Joseph.

'could have', might have, is it possible and maybe are all foundation stones of the H2 network.

As well as ALIENS...

I remember the confessing the sins, not sinning any more and believing in Jesus Christ as lord and savior... but I don’t recall where the Bible instructs us infidels to convert to some earthly organization for salvation

I can not fathom the thought of not going to Mother Mary to put in a special word for me with her son.

Mary is dead.

Good luck with getting past the executive secretary...

Only a liberal would dare believe that Jesus Christ had brothers and sisters. Liberals that want to pout down the Bible.

Well there we go. Sure. But it seems to me this simplistic notion that all we “need” to “do” is confess belief in Jesus to be “saved” is just that: simplistic. Cuz I’ll bet if you asked the esteemed Professor there he’s say, “Yes I believe Jesus is my savior”.

Virtually everyone who claims to be Christian says that! That obviously can’t be the *only* thing required or else God would’ve just written that phrase, and only that phrase, over and over again in the Bible.

When it is written (John 3:16, 6:28, etc) it is recorded as Jesus speaking to *unbelievers*. Of course faith in God (Jesus) is a requirement for salvation. The question is is it the *only* thing. First of course comes faith, but after that, then what? That’s really the question.

Because I’ve looked at John 6:28 again, and I don’t see the word “only” there. (It does not say “The work of God is *only* to believe in the one he has sent”). Saving faith *starts* with accepting Jesus as one’s savior but it doesn’t *end* there.

Trivia question: where in the Bible *does* the phrase “faith alone” appear?

Wow. I think you need to go back and study James. I think you missed a few things there the first time.
