People have it all backwards.
The Catholic Church does not forbid priests to marry. The Catholic Church chooses priests from among those who have chosen to be celibate and to be perfectly continent.
The primary point of celibacy is not the practical advantages, although they are real. The primary point is the person’s relationship with God. Choosing virginity is recommended by Christ Himself.
Are there unfaithful priests and religious? Of course. Are there mediocrities in the priesthood and religious life? Of course.
Evidently the Catholic Church believes that, regardless of the existence of failures and mediocrities, faithfulness to the words of Jesus is worthwhile.
Actually God says otherwise.
Where? Chapter and verse please....
The same Christ who said that it wasn't good for man to be alone and told mankind to be fruitful and multiply?
When did He change His mind?
If being single wasn't good for man when he was perfect and in the garden, why is it now good after man fell?
