Bill Gates, the richest man in the world, revealed in a recent interview that his family goes to a Catholic church and that religious morality inspires a lot of his charity work. He also shared his personal thoughts on God and the biggest issues facing the world today.
"The moral systems of religion, I think, are super important. We've raised our kids in a religious way; they've gone to the Catholic church that Melinda goes to and I participate in. I've been very lucky, and therefore I owe it to try and reduce the inequity in the world. And that's kind of a religious belief. I mean, it's at least a moral belief," Gates says in an interview with Rolling Stone in the March 27 issue of the magazine.
When asked if he believed in God, he responded, "I think it makes sense to believe in God, but exactly what decision in your life you make differently because of it, I don't know."
At the same time, he said he agrees with "people like Richard Dawkins that mankind felt the need for creation myths."
"Before we really began to understand disease and the weather and things like that, we sought false explanations for them. Now science has filled in some of the realm not all that religion used to fill," he said. "But the mystery and the beauty of the world is overwhelmingly amazing, and there's no scientific explanation of how it came about. To say that it was generated by random numbers, that does seem, you know, sort of an uncharitable view [laughs]."

AMEN.
Too bad his huge foundation doesn’t send a penny to christian efforts across the globe.
My sister claims to be an athiest and has turned her back on the church she was raised in and baptized in- The Catholic Church.
However, when my brother was discussing how he, his wife and daughter don’t go to church, my sister freaked out, saying that children need God.
Vewwwwy puzzling.
His foundation, like those of wealthy industrialists a century before, is a convenient tax dodge.
Isn’t he and his wife a big pro-abortion and pro-contraception advocate?
Melinda and Bill are HUGE Pro-Abortionists.....maybe Jesus will change their minds before they die.
The fear of The Lord is the beginning of wisdom. It is where it all starts.
I don't know if they did it as insurance against immoral peer pressure or to keep their parents/grandparents from haranguing them.
He seems a little mixed up and unsure.

Sounds like your sister knows in her heart that God exist. My husband rejected God for years. One Sunday I was trying to get my three sons ready for church and my husband was complaining I should not force them to go. I had been fervently praying for my husband and showing him unconditional love, but that Sunday I lost it. I turned to him and said fine, we'll do it your way. I won't go, the kids won't go and well all go to hell and it will be ALL your fault. I did not really believe that, nor would I stop going, but I did not go that Sunday. Three months later my husband turned his life to Christ. Even if I'm sick and can't go to church, he goes.
Reminiscent of the altar on Mars hill that the learned men of Athens had built and dedicated, “To the unknown god.” (Acts 17:22-23) St. Paul then witnessed to them about the God he knew and to whom he dedicated his life.
Puts him light years ahead of your typical Silicon Valley elites. Keep praying, there is hope for him.
I’d never believe a single word from Bill Gates.
He is only interested in one thing...Bill Gates.
If he is saying this, it means he is trying to manipulate someone into doing something HE wants.
Terrific! Good for him! Too bad he’d enslave and/or kill us all for “the greater good” just like the rest of his leftist buddies.
...or after.
The biggest. A huge chunk of his foundation’s money goes to birth control research.
His foundation is staffed with Clinton administrators who unfortunately schooled him in their brand of politics.
Gates was never involved with politics until after Janet Reno tried to force him to make our computers accessible to the federal government - that "backdoor" thing. When he did realize he needed to be politically aware he got schooled by liberals.
It might be good if we added Bill Gates and his family to our prayers.
