One Hundred Fifty Reasons I'm Catholic - And You Should Be Too!
http://www.ourcatholicfaith.org ^ | January 23, 2014 | Dave Armstrong

1. Best One-Sentence Summary: I am convinced that the Catholic Church conforms much more closely to all of the biblical data, offers the only coherent view of the history of Christianity (i.e., Christian, apostolic Tradition), and possesses the most profound and sublime Christian morality, spirituality, social ethic, and philosophy.

2. Alternate: I am a Catholic because I sincerely believe, by virtue of much cumulative evidence, that Catholicism is true, and that the Catholic Church is the visible Church divinely-established by our Lord Jesus, against which the gates of hell cannot and will not prevail (Mt 16:18), thereby possessing an authority to which I feel bound in Christian duty to submit.

3. 2nd Alternate: I left Protestantism because it was seriously deficient in its interpretation of the Bible (e.g., "faith alone" and many other "Catholic" doctrines - see evidences below), inconsistently selective in its espousal of various Catholic Traditions (e.g., the Canon of the Bible), inadequate in its ecclesiology, lacking a sensible view of Christian history (e.g., "Scripture alone"), compromised morally (e.g., contraception, divorce), and unbiblically schismatic, anarchical, and relativistic. I don't therefore believe that Protestantism is all bad (not by a long shot), but these are some of the major deficiencies I eventually saw as fatal to the "theory" of Protestantism, over against Catholicism. All Catholics must regard baptized, Nicene, Chalcedonian Protestants as Christians.

4. Catholicism isn't formally divided and sectarian (Jn 17:20-23; Rom 16:17; 1 Cor 1:10-13).

5. Catholic unity makes Christianity and Jesus more believable to the world (Jn 17:23).

6. Catholicism, because of its unified, complete, fully supernatural Christian vision, mitigates against secularization and humanism.

7. Catholicism avoids an unbiblical individualism which undermines Christian community (e.g., 1 Cor 12:25-26).

8. Catholicism avoids theological relativism, by means of dogmatic certainty and the centrality of the papacy.

No..

That's the MORMONs who cannot back up what they so boldly proclaim!

I answered your reply and it looks like it was removed by the moderator, for what reason I don’t know. I never personally attacked anyone. I only told you I think it is absolutely impossible for anyone that has an unbiased knowledge of Christian history to leave Catholicism for Prostantism.

I also said the greatest living Christian theologian is named Joseph Ratzinger, who went on to become Pope Benedict 16th. His entire life has been devoted to studying the gospels. He has a genius IQ and I think if Joseph Ratzinger never converted to Prostantism the Catholic Church is the One, True, Faith. If not there is no way on earth that Joseph Ratzinger would still be a Catholic.
End of story.

A little bit of demonic deception; a smattering of Protestantism, a wee bit of Jewish LAW, some mixing in of Masonic ritual; along with a bundle of Catholic copyings and

You've got yerself a religion!!

Foisrted on the world by an itinerant conman!!

Christus (statue)

From Wikipedia
The original statue at the Church of Our Lady, Copenhagen.

Christus (also known as Christus Consolator) is a 19th-century Carrara marble statue of the resurrected Jesus by Bertel Thorvaldsen. Since its completion in 1838, the statue has been located in the Church of Our Lady in Copenhagen, Denmark. In the 20th century, images and replicas of the statue were adopted by the leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) to emphasize the centrality of Jesus Christ in church teachings.

Binger; did you ever get to see the original while you were on your mission field?

I find this a bit hard to believe.

Upon what do you base your findings?

Why of course! We know that the most intelligent would naturally be Catholic. Just look at Stephen Hawking for instance. Wait……………What?

LOL That has to go down as the lamest excuse to be a Catholic I have ever heard.

“Can’t defend your “fullness of the gospel”?”

No need to, the Catholic Church does that for me.

As for what the True Church teaches, it is all available, go to the Catechism and learn, or not.

Again, what do you care sweetie? You and your cult of one knows all, and needs no one, right?

Sure did. Matter of fact dear wife and I were in Copenhagen for Christmas Eve four years ago and spent the evening there. And yes Elsie I did offer up some special thoughts for you and a few other Freepers that night including Greyfoxx39 and colorcountry.

John Henry Newman knew the Bible inside and out and was England’s leading theologian when he decided to become a Catholic. He was hated all over England for the rest of his life because he spoke the truth about the Christian faith. Hopefully one day soon he’ll be a canonized saint.

Agreed. But at the same time, should we blame his entire religion? For example, let’s say he was Pentecostal ... do we blame the worldwide Pentecostal Church?

Of course he did. At least he had you convinced. I can assure you that Satan knows scripture better than Newman ever dreamed of.

>>>John Henry Newman knew the Bible inside and out...<<<

No he didn't. He didn't know this one:

"... call none your father upon earth; for one is your father, who is in heaven." (Matthew 23:9, DRA)

If, by chance, he did know that verse, then he was an arrogant little dweeb who joined the Catholics because he was not getting enough praise to satisfy his inflated ego.

You asked if we should blame the church.

If the entire religion knew about it and failed to do something, then YES.

In the case of Catholicism, it sets the standards from the top down. The problems with liberal Catholics are so widespread that yes, the entire hierarchy is responsible.

This sort of thing with the liberal politicians has been going on for decades and the church STILL gave Kennedy a Catholic funeral. They have not even distanced themselves from the liberal politicians, much less reprimanded them, so yes, the entire denomination is culpable since the entire denomination is aware. None of it is being done in a closet.

Ah, all those satanists mascarading as Catholic popes for the last 2,000 years, leading all those people astray. I suppose that that everyone that lived and called themselves Christian until Martin Luther came along all burned in hell because they were following satan and his evil religion. You need to get away from the fantasy Dan Brown novels.
