Oh no. Many who were referred to as Christians were faithful followers of Christ. The Roman Catholic Church tried its best to eliminate them but failed for the most part.

I dont know any Dan Brown and dont read novels. Well, other then when doing research into Catholic belief. Some of that is pure fantasy novel type stuff.

There were many Christians since the first century that were members of the church that Jesus started.
Not all Christians were Catholic.
In fact none were until about the 3rd century when Catholicism started and history was re-written to declare the Apostles Catholics!
