My earnings do NOT belong to caesar. They belong to me.
The government stealing them by force to use for immoral purposes (such as promoting homosexual perversion) is criminal.
Seeking to keep as much of my earnings out of their hands as possible is a moral good.
God asks for only 10%. Anything above 10% that the government would ask for is instantly immoral.
My point is, Jesus does address taxes. And instructs those who follow him to pay their taxes. It doesn’t mean you have to agree with the level or taxation, and doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be fighting to lower them, but by saying “not paying taxes is a sin” in no way puts government ahead of God.
