This is a good point, made doubly sticky by the fact that the Bible means something in English as well as its original languages. Consider:
"Trust in the LORD with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him and he shall direct thy paths." - Proverbs 3:5-6, KJV
Versus:
"Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." - Proverbs 3:5-6, NIV.
Two different meanings. Same language.
