2Co 5:20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.

I didn't know St. Paul was an idol worshiper...how about that??!!

We ask the saints to pray for us.

Didn’t you post something very similar to this just a few days ago from Staples’ blog?

Using a phrase like “worshipping the saints” provides no insight or understanding. It is just one of many terms used like a weapon to attack, ridicule and divide people of faith.

Wow! I didn't know that Paul was dead when he wrote 2 Corinthians!?!?

2Co 5:20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.

The original Greek word translated as "pray" in this passage is "deomai" which means "to want, desire or ask". Paul is simply asking his readers to be reconciled to God. It's obvious that asking a living human to do something is completely different from praying to God which assumes that God can hear our thoughts and spoken words even though we cannot see Him.

Your snarky parsing of words is Clintonian and unworthy of a believer.

.
How foolish!

Paul didn’t pray to them, he prayed to the Father FOR them.

That is in no way an example of praying TO saints.

http://biblehub.com/2_corinthians/5-20.htm

Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.

That is not praying TO anyone.
