At todays Angelus in St. Peters Square Francis asked faithful not to be fooled by false messiahs and invited them to think of their many Christian brothers and sisters who suffer persecution because of their faith. There are more Christians being persecuted today than in the early centuries. After the Marian prayer, Francis reminded those present that today was the day of road deaths, praying for respect of the rules of the road. And as the Year of Faith has drawn to a close, Francis recommended faithful a medicine for the soul which roused waves of applause.
Todays Gospel passage described how Jesus addressed the people of Jerusalem who were commenting on the temple and how beautiful it was and urged them to pay attention to the real issues and not to secondary aspects. The Pope highlighted the pertinence today of the words pronounced by the Son of God even for us who live in the XXI century. Francis called for discernment and urged faithful to understand the difference between the spirit of the Lord and the spirit of evil. Take heed that you not be deceived. Many will come in my name," Francis said.
Even today, in fact, there are false saviours", who attempt to substitute leaders of this world, holy men , even sorcerers for Jesus, people who want to attract hearts and minds, especially of young people, to themselves. Jesus warns us: "Do not follow them". And the Lord also helps us to not be afraid when faced with wars, revolutions, but also to natural disasters, epidemics, Jesus frees us from fatalism and false apocalyptic visions.
Then Francis spoke about the challenge for us as Christians and the Church: Jesus speaks of the painful trials and persecutions that his disciples will have to suffer because of Him. However promises: "Not a hair of your head will perish (v.18). In short, said Francis, "reminds us that we are totally in the hands of God! The adversity we meet for our faith and our commitment to the Gospel are occasions of testimony and they should not turn us away from the Lord, but force us to abandon ourselves to Him even more, to the power of his Spirit and his grace.
Francis then asked faithful to turn their thoughts to their many Christian brothers and sisters who suffer persecution because of their faith. There are many of them, perhaps many more of the early centuries. Jesus is with them, and also we are united with them with our prayers and our love. We admire their courage and testimony. They are our brothers and sisters, who in many parts of the world suffer for their fidelity to Jesus Christ. We send them our heartfelt greetings and our affection."
In the end, Jesus makes a promise that is a guarantee of victory: "By your perseverance you will secure your lives" (v.19). How much hope in these words! They are a reminder of the hope and patience, to be able to wait for the fruits of salvation certain, confident in the profound sense of life and of history, the Pope said.
The trials and difficulties are part of a bigger picture, and the Lord, the Lord of history, leads all to its fulfilment. Despite the turmoil and disasters that affect the world, Gods plan of goodness and mercy will be fulfilled! And this is our hope. Travelling this road, the road of God, it will be accomplished.
After the Angelus prayer the Pope remembered the victims of road accidents saying: Today is also the 'day of road deaths ' .I assure you of my prayers and encourage you to persevere in the prevention, because prudence and respect for the rules of the road are the first form of protection for oneself and others."
Finally, the Pope recommended a special medicine to realize the fruits of the Year of Faith, which is drawing to a close. Its a medicine of 59 beaded grains: it is a spiritual medicine called Misericordina
kept in a box, which some volunteers distributed as faithful left the square.
May God help you through the messes in your life until you return to the truth.
I beg you to listen to the sermons I linked. Listen to just one of them even. Are you sure you have heard and understood the real gospel? What if you think you have but you are wrong? Are you trusting a system, a tradition, your own understanding? Or are you trusting Christ? Are you trusting Him as revealed in His word or as represented by Rome?
No thank you. My priest is an excellent homilist.
If you follow a blind guide you’ll both end up in the ditch. That said, any man who has Christ has no need for a priest. HE is the great high priest.
“Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.”
—Hebrews 4:14
I’ll keep praying for you.
My priest is not blind.
He is a follower of Jesus Christ to the enth degree.
Could you point me to where in Scripture "Pope" Peter establishes, and the dates of, the four Roman Catholic dogmas of Mary?
Check the Council of Jerusalem for the exercise of the authority of St. Peter.
For the dogmas/doctrines about Mary, please check the Vatican website.
Please don’t ask me to do your homework.
Well if you don’t know, just say so.
What if you are dead wrong? What would it hurt to listen to the sermons I linked? What if I’m right and you miss a chance to hear and understand the truth?
“Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.”
—Matthew 7:14
Colossians 2
16 Therefore let no one pass judgment on you in questions of food and drink, or with regard to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath.
17 These are a shadow of the things to come, but the substance belongs to Christ.
18 Let no one disqualify you, insisting on asceticism and worship of angels, going on in detail about visions, puffed up without reason by his sensuous mind,
19 and not holding fast to the Head, from whom the whole body, nourished and knit together through its joints and ligaments, grows with a growth that is from God.
20 If with Christ you died to the elemental spirits of the world, why, as if you were still alive in the world, do you submit to regulations-
21 “Do not handle, Do not taste, Do not touch”
22 (referring to things that all perish as they are used)-according to human precepts and teachings?
23 These have indeed an appearance of wisdom in promoting self-made religion and asceticism and severity to the body, but they are of no value in stopping the indulgence of the flesh.

I do know — but do your own homework.
Somewhat of a non-sequiter, except, of course, not. LOL
He gave out free rosaries to everyone there.Best medicine he said.I told him to say that:)
Why are you being so evasive over a simple question?
I've done my homework and the Maryidolatry continues in the New Evangelization.
Was Mary crucified for you?
Don't be sweet, just preach The Gospel and let the Power of the Holy Spirit build up His Church of Living Stones, and not some man made hierarchy of Nimrod.
First, show me in Scripture where it says that every iota of Christian truth is written in Scripture.
There is no such thing as idolatry of Mary. Where do you get this unfortunate information? Maybe a pamphlet? Maybe a preacher who hates Catholics?
We ask Mary to pray for us.
Have you ever asked anyone to pray for you?
Do you remember Mary’s last words in the Bible at the Wedding of Cana? “Do whatever he tells you.” She always defers and gives credit to her Son, Jesus.
How many times must we tell you that we do not worship Mary?
We ask her to pray for us. Period!!
Where are you getting this false information?
First, show me in Scripture where it says that every iota of Christian truth is written in Scripture.
The complete question of mine to Salvation which you truncated is:
"Could you point me to where in Scripture "Pope" Peter establishes, and the dates of, the four Roman Catholic dogmas of Mary?"

Nice try.
Since Salvation is so evasive and won't answer, maybe you want to give it a stab?
Sorry for the delayed response, I've been kinda busy.
