A World gone Crazy. 2 Chronicles 22:10 But when Athaliah the mother of Ahaziah saw that her son was dead, she arose and destroyed all the seed royal of the house of Judah. 11 But Jehoshabeath, the daughter of the king, took Joash the son of Ahaziah, and stole him from among the king's sons that were slain, and put him and his nurse in a bedchamber. So Jehoshabeath, the daughter of king Jehoram, the wife of Jehoiada the priest, (for she was the sister of Ahaziah,) hid him from Athaliah, so that she slew him not. 12 And he was with them hid in the house of God six years: and Athaliah reigned over the land. If you look back at the way things were just a few years ago or even further back. You can see all the changes in the world around us. I mean what used to be un-expectable is now expectable, thing that were not tolerated are now tolerated, Common decency and morals are fading away. Corruption is now common place in government and things get worse and worse every year. If you read a newspaper today you will hear child molestation murder and drug overdoes in places that you never heard about going on there before. Things that used to only happen in big cities are now happening in rural America as well. It would seem as though the world has gone crazy. Though that is depressing and disturbing to you and me. But what I find even more disturbing than that is what is going on among Christians these days. You hear about church going in different direction bring more worldly ideas into their church. Pastors who are no longer serving the Lord anymore, families going through a divorce and you ask yourself what is going on. What do you do when the world is going crazy It may be dishearten and depressing at times and to be honest there really isn’t much you can do about the world going crazy. But we completely control how we react to the world. 1 John 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. We read in our story about a world that has gone crazy. Let’s walk though this story so we can know who the folks are the characters in this story. A family tree as you were. A queen by the name of Athaliah when you think of her think of Jezebel she was not Jezebel but she was very much like her. She was the Queen her Husband was the king he was Jehoram and he is now dead she is the widow of the King of Judah. Ahaziah her son is now the king. And he has just died so her husband the king was dead and now her son the king is dead also. Ok Now Athaliah husband is dead and her son is dead and instead of lamenting over their deaths she see the moment to take control of the kingdom of Judah. She has the rest of the royal family killed as you see in verse 10 “she arose and destroyed all the seed royal of the house of Judah”. Now that is wicked and that is sick. It is amazing how one little phrase in the bible can cover so much ground as this just think about she had an entire blood line of the royal family murder can you imagine how much carnage going to room after room and killing children in nurseries just a horrible though. But you can see just how wicked she was. Then she announces herself as Queen over all of Judah. Now you might say GOD is not going to tolerate that. That is true GOD will not tolerate that but GOD’s timing is not your timing. It was frustrating for GOD people to have a woman like this to have rule over them. She was wicked and she reinstituted Baal worship. For six years she did whatever she wanted. She made scarifies unto Baal witch include human sacrifices. What was frustrating the most was that profits before had told that from the linage of David the messiah would come. That GOD had promised the them that from David seed a deliverer would come. Now as far as they knew the entire seed of David was destroyed. They must have felt as though GOD had lied to them. For six year they walk around not understand why. See it wasn’t enough that this evil Women had rule over them but GOD promised the a messiah would come from the seed of David and now how hopeless and lost they must have felt. Job 34:12 Yea, surely God will not do wickedly, neither will the Almighty pervert judgment. So the frustration wasn’t directed at Athaliah we was wicked from the get go but the frustration must have been directed at GOD. The promise of the messiah most had seem to be impossible to them at that time. How frustrating it is in our own lives when we think we GOD I did this and your word promises this and I have not got it. Things have not turn out in my life as I had thought they would People get frustrated with GOD. And ask why GOD why me. How Come things are working out now like they should because we live in the present and GOD see things for the way they really are even if we do not see it. There are 4 things we can learn from this 1) When the world has gone crazy. GOD’s Word is still true. How frustrating it is in our own lives when we think that GOD I did this and your word promises this and I have not got it. Things have not turn out in my life as I had thought they would People get frustrated with GOD. And ask why GOD why me. How Come things are working out now like they should because we live in the present and GOD see things for the way they really are even if we do not see it. Psalms 119:160 Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever. 2) When the world has gone Crazy, That best time to save a soul. We do not save souls Jesus Christ does but we get to facilitate that. The more people get crazy the more we are different the more we stand out. The more wicked the world gets the more there are opportunities to present Christ. The more sin in the world the more people are hurt and suffer from the sin. Do you realize when a person life is upside down that is the best time to present Christ to them. The more people are going to want anchors the more people are going to want stability. There are some people that I could go visit and witness to there are people the preacher can visit and witness to but there are people that you can witness to people you have already have a relationship to a connection with, the me and other here do not. Matthew 6:34. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. 3) When the World has gone Crazy, The Church can be a place of refuge. The crazier the world get the more this place is needed for a place of protection. It can’t be a place of protection if we look at and dress like the rest of the world. 2 Chronicles 22:12 And he was with them hid in the house of God six years: and Athaliah reigned over the land. For six year the house of GOD represented it’s self as a place of protection. We struggle all day with temptations and the lust of the world and the church can be a place to be refreshed. A place to go and be recharged. To listen to good music and converse with other Christians as iron sharpens iron. You ever walk into an air condition building after being out on the sun and how refreshing it is that is how are church out to be in a spiritual since. But if our standards are the same as the world it will not be as refreshing. Not ever one that comes in here will like it her but they ought to see the difference than other places. 4) When the world has gone crazy. GOD is still in control 2 Chronicles 23:11 Then they brought out the king's son, and put upon him the crown, and gave him the testimony, and made him king. And Jehoiada and his sons anointed him, and said, God save the king. 12 Now when Athaliah heard the noise of the people running and praising the king, she came to the people into the house of the LORD: 13 And she looked, and, behold, the king stood at his pillar at the entering in, and the princes and the trumpets by the king: and all the people of the land rejoiced, and sounded with trumpets, also the singers with instruments of musick, and such as taught to sing praise. Then Athaliah rent her clothes, and said, Treason, Treason. 14 Then Jehoiada the priest brought out the captains of hundreds that were set over the host, and said unto them, Have her forth of the ranges: and whoso followeth her, let him be slain with the sword. For the priest said, Slay her not in the house of the LORD.15 So they laid hands on her; and when she was come to the entering of the horse gate by the king's house, they slew her there.
What was so great that when they though all was lost. It was still possible for the messiah to come. Verse number 11 has every time someone gets saved. The word of GOD is still true. We can use this church to get people saved. No matter what has happen to the neighborhood around here. Galatians 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. You GOD is always right and just and we need never forget that, GOD is in control and though the people of Judea might have though all was lost GOD was in control the whole time.
Verse number 11 happens every time someone gets saved. The word of GOD is still true and the world is wrong.
It seems so hard when everything around seems so insane but no matter what it looks like to us GOD is always in control and GOD’s word is always true.

Back in the early days of writing, they didn’t even put a space between words.
Maybe that’s the reason why so many of them were illiterate.
