The last name address is always used for all such men (and/or women) by me. Perhaps I have just moved from the conservative to the liberal category. Even time-honored expressions are frequently incorrect. It's not so much what you don't know that will get you in trouble, it's what you know that ain't so.
Oh really! So the magesterium of today witnessed what Christ taught?
John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
I think the big D Disciples and the big A Apostles as you want to call them ended with the death of John. The so called "magesterium" wasn't there to "remember".
OK...Thanks...
Usually they call him Reverend.
On the Daily Readings threads we have six translations:
Revised NAB
RSV
Jerusalem
Douay/Rheims
Vulgate
Greek
So people can pick what they like.

A magisterium is exactly what you said it was- those with teaching authority to teach others. The Apostles had it and they appointed their successors.
But only Protestants can infallibly interpret the word of God. The Magisterium of the Catholic Church, set up by Jesus Christ Himself, is automatically invalidated. So are all Catholics. Doncha know?
