The restoration of my faith in God...
kropcke

So, Hi everyone. I just stumbled upon this thought, and wanted to share.

Probably like many of you, to me the world appears to be unraveling these days. Up is down, left is right, etc. And it's so difficult to find rational thought in the actions of our political leaders. Platitudes have usurped sound reason. And the tide of deception is pulling us and our nation out to sea. "Real-ville" is nowhere in sight.

So I thought to myself, "how is any of this possible? How did we get here?" It's likely we are simply being played as frogs in a slow-to-boil pot of water. But what gets me is that all common sense has been jettisoned by our leaders.

My only explanation is that evil is upon us. We are surrounded by deceit and fraud. Thus, my belief in the Devil has been renewed. I'm not inclined to say whether or not I think he's here, but at the very least the reflection of his actions are present. And hence, the restoration of my faith in God.

"how is any of this possible? How did we get here?"

I ask those very same questions all the time.

Read the Book of Job and then tell me how we did get to this point.

Don’t you think that those marching in file into the gaschambers at WWII concentration camps asked themselves the same question?

Everyone asks themselves those questions in uncertain times or situations. What's your point?

The point is — there is no answer to that question.

Not in Job’s time, not during WWII, not now.

We certainly don’t find ourselves in a position that is unique to our times and our society. History repeats itself and there is truly nothing new here.

We must do as those in the past have done and rededicate our lives and our country to God and pray that He will deliver us from this evil.

There has always been evil, since the Garden of Eden. We are just not used to it hitting us as Americans. We are used to freedom and being the "good guy" in the world. We used to be a Godly people. The social revolution of the sixties did us in.

What was sin became virtue, or at least became neutral. The colleges were the Xerox machine, and it trickled down as students graduated and started teaching the young. We moved from being self-sacrificing and humble to giants of self-esteem and selfishness. Pride and lust are now seen as virtues, not sins.

On a positive note, the line between good and evil becomes clearer every day. And each of us has free will to choose one or the other.

You are exactly correct.
