Aren't the Knights Of Columbus a form of Freemasonry ?
Masonry is seen very differently in Italy. Even of late, the “Propaganda Due” or P2 lodge was deeply involved in lots of schemes, and caused substantial scandal.

I’m marrying a Catholic girl and one of the questions the priest asked me was “Are you a member of any ‘condemned society’ like the Freemasons or the Illuminati?”
It should be common knowledge that Catholics don’t want Freemasons in their ranks.
Kick out a freemason, but say that them good ole atheists will all go to heaven if they are “good” people. Geeze, what a screwed up bunch of opinions.

I think there is a big difference between euro-masonry and what we have in the US, at least that’s the impression I get. That said, I’ve always wondered why a group that requires faith to join would even want anyone to join them who would be violating the rules of their faith to join. Seems like it’s defeating the purpose kinda.
Freegards
Too bad the Vatican wasn’t so zealous about kicking clergy out of the Church for molesting children.
Since everything about Freemasonry is secret to non-members, how would those Popes know?
If the priest saw a conflict with his vows to the Church, would he not have left the Freemasons?
Not a Roman Catholic, but I’m liking this Pope more and more.
