Been a Mason for thirty years have never done or been asked to do anything negative toward Catholics or any other organized religion. Masons are required only to profess a belief in God. Catholics are welcome to be Masons as are any one else who believes in God. I would not encourage a Catholic to be a Mason for obvious reasons but if he were to choose to join I would welcome him to the brother hood!Masonry does not profess to be a substitute for any religion and discourages people from doing so!!!

We had at least one Catholic in my lodge. I haven’t been active since the 70s.

On July 16, it will be 43 years for me.

Have many Catholic friends some close ones that are Knights of Columbus. In some communities both organizations have common projects. The realtionship in those communities is healthy and honest.

The discussion of our relationship with Catholics here is pointless here. The “authorities” here speak utter nonsense, about things they do not understand.

The Catholic Church is a private organization (and those Catholic FReepers know how much I like messing with them) that can make their own membership standards. Actually when it comes to pro-abortion politicians, they need to enforce them.

Difference in Masons and KOC is the KOC believe in the Trinity, Father, Son, Holy Spirit. There are no other Gods. That’s it. Freemasons believe in a door knob being a god or anything else you might want to call a “higher power. Sort of like Alcoholics Anonymous.
