It may have worked for a con-man in the 1800s before the development of DNA testing, but with the discovery of DNA sequencing, this foundation of the LDS is shown to be utterly false
Oh, and another thing is J Smith's insistence that the "Book of Abraham" was actually of Abraham with Smith's made-up "Reformed Egyptian" -- when the book has been shown to be an excerpt of the ancient Egyptian book of the dead dedicated to Anubis and the "Reformed Egyptian" is false

Aw, Cronos, I’m sure you intuitively know the answer.
Mormonism is all about FEELINGS and the ABANDONMENT of fact or evidence-based , objective thought. In fact, the first thing one of their CULTIC missionaries tries to get you to do is LEAVE the *objective ground of Holy Scripture* and accept the *subjective ground of feelings*. They ask you to pray whether mormonic teaching - that contradicts the Bible - is true, based solely on a feeling you might receive.
If you probe any Mormon more than two or three questions deep, you find not history, geology, archaeology, nor Bible, but a feelings based “testimony” that Horndog Smith is a prophet. From that initial abandonment of “loving God with your whole mind”, facts, evidence and logic no longer matter. ANYTHING can be believed - even that they can become a god.
The descent to base emotion is sudden, steep, and unrelenting. It must be obeyed because it is the only foundation they have remaining. It is sad, yes. God still works miracles to reach many caught up in this falsehood. Just look around FR at such a cloud of witnesses we have here - FREE men and women in Christ. Thank God for his grace.
