There was a book describing heaven written by a young kid who had a near-death experience. He described meeting a nameless sister that his mother had miscarried (and, incidentally, that his parents had never mentioned to him).

Powerful. I'm not sure what to think about these near death sort of experiences, but they definitely make me think.

How did we fall so far that we somehow rationalize murdering the most innocent of all? We won't be getting off easy for this.

I've been getting re-acquainted with Exodus and how God dealt with those rebellious Israelites and pondering the consequences for what we do, especially for our nation's government sanctified mass sacrifice to convenience.

I was thinking about that doctor’s testimony on YouTube this afternoon (one of your links up there, I think it was the 30 yrs research one) and how, IIRC, he says about a third of reported NDEs are negative. Made me think of Revelation and the dragon sweeping a third of the stars from the sky...spooky.
