Pope: Everyone, Even Atheists, Want to See the Face of God
Asia News ^ | 1/16/13

General audience, Benedict XVI defines the Incarnation as "something unimaginable, the face of God can be seen, the process that began with Abraham is fulfilled." The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, he asks "for the great gift" to "proclaim together that Jesus is the Savior of the world."

Vatican City (AsiaNews) - "The desire to know the face of God is in every man, even the atheists," but this desire is only realized by following Christ, in whom, in the Incarnation, "something unimaginable took place, the journey that began with Abraham is fulfilled. He is the Son, the fullness of all Revelation; the mediator who shows us the face of God. "

And "to proclaim together that Jesus is the Saviour of the world" Benedict XVI asked for incessant prayers for "the great gift" of Christian unity in the forthcoming week, which begins on the 18th of this month.

Previously, in his catechesis, he again reflected on the meaning of Christmas, in a commentary on John's Gospel in which the apostle Philip asks Jesus to show them the Father. The answer of Jesus, "introduces us to the heart of the Church's Christological faith; For the Lord says: "Whoever has seen me has seen the Father" (Jn 14:9).This expression summarizes the novelty of the New Testament, the novelty that appeared in the cave of Bethlehem: God can be seen, he showed his face is visible in Jesus Christ".

The theme of "seeking the face of God" is present throughout the Old Testament, so much so that the Hebrew term "face", occurs no less than 400 times, 100 of which refer to God." The of Jewish religion which the religion forbids all images, "for God can not be depicted," and "can not be reduced to an object," tells us that "God...

1 Timothy 2:4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth

Are all men saved?

Does God know everything or Does God not know everything? Since all men are not saved, and God knows that, what does the word “will” mean?

God also has the power to just “poof” make all saved. That He doesn’t do it makes the word “will” mean what?

>>you would not even have an English Bible to quote from or study.<<

Now there is a phrase we have become rather familiar with!!! You forgot “thank the Catholic Church”. The lack of faith that God preserved His word to us but rather giving credit to some man is astounding.

Same way any poison is given - a lie/deception wrapped in something that is known to be good to entice - like a juicy steak or whatever you are into/whatever flavor 'religion' one prefers.

IMO, Adam/Eve's first mistake was to listen 'another' voice. They should have kept with God ALONE.

I praise and thank God for His Word and His Spirit to teach me and bear witness to my spirit. He equipped us well. Others can listen to 'another voice' all they want. But for me and my house - God's Word is The Final Authority as it is for all born again believers.

I asked what “others” say. Why can you not answer a straight question with a straight answer?

It makes people think you’re hiding something.

Are you part of a cult and afraid to say so? Unification, Universalist, Children of God, The Way, etc., etc.

So, what denomination do others call your church?

It really takes a lot of nerve to engage in verbal attacks just a few posts after complaining about another doing it.

The whiner is too often the instigator.

he just put his seer stone into his hat, put his face in and let the Spiritual light shine and dictate as the spirit gave him utterance.

Direct from God to King James. Awesome.

Now I'm properly instructed in the divine right of kings.

>>Go read stories of Wycliffe Translators trying to come up with the right word/group of words to convey a biblical concept.<<

How about we just give God the credit for preserving His word for us today? And then believe what He said about giving us the indwelling of the Holy Spirit to interpret for us what we need from His word?

Others say? Why would I worry about what others say? Where did you get the idea that believers had to belong to a “denomination” anyway? Tell me what “denomination" the New Testament church at Philadelphia was and I will tell you what “denomination” we are.

I wasn’t complaining. Just pointing out hypocrisy. You will never find me complaining.

others

What denomination do others call your church, CynnaBear?

It is a similar question to "what state name do others call your state?"

Mine is Ohio. Yours is ______?

(I know, I know...."others -- what difference does it make what they call my state.")

Obfuscation and intentional hiding.

The hypocrisy, CynnaBear, is that you were doing the same thing that you whined about.

No whining from me. Blast away!

Matthew 5:11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

I spent a career in the military counseling thousands, Cynna, and I can smell a whining, obfuscator a mile away.

How is it that you can’t conceive of someone being a Christian and not belong to some man made organization that was never sanctioned by Christ? Are you going to tell me what denomination the church at Philadelphia belonged to?
