Maybe; but the only reason Dave would like to know, is so that he can find something, ANYthing, to pounce on to put YOU on the defensive.
Homey don't play dat; and neither does Elsie.
If what I'm saying here on FR can't be understood withOUT "knowing where I'm coming from" then I am not being very clear in my writing.
I've debated and even argued with Dave over the past year or more and told him frankly where I am coming from -- and I can categorically say that he has NOT done that to me. When arguing even heatedly about a belief, he has focused on common points and the differences from the common points. He has not 'pounced on this to put me on the defensive'
I strongly disagree with much of his beliefs but he has not played like many of the Mormons or other posters here.
I'm sorry, but that is true.
Take Dave's case -- if one just went by his "Mormons spiritual brethren" statements one gets the wrong picture of his beliefs
The fact that he has Swedenborgian beliefs means that his views, which non-Trinitarian are not as out-there as the Mormon views
What exactly is wrong with being honest about one's religious beliefs? He has done this here with all of us, me included, disagreeing with him -- why can't we return the courtesy?
