Homosexual couples can legally marry in 8 states and the D.C. (CT, IA, MA, NH, NY, WA, VT, MD) and receive state-level benefits. All legalized homosexual marriage either through laws passed by the state legislature or rulings handed down by the state supreme court. The citizens in these states did not vote directly on this measure.

# State Date Legalized
1 MA 3/17/2004
2 CT 4/23/2009
3 IA 4/27/2009
4 VT 9/01/2009
5 NH 1/01/2010
6 Wash. D.C. 3/03/2010
7 NY 7/24/2011
8 WA 2/13/2012
9 MD 3/01/2012

1. CA Proposition 8 which banned homosexual marriage was approved by the voters in 2008. After several rulings and appeals, a 3-judge panel on the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled it unconstitutional in FEB 2012. It appears now that it will go before the SCOTUS on appeal.
2. IL state attorney general is trying to impose same-sex marriage through the state supreme court in 2012.
3. NJ state legislature passed a bill approving same-sex marriage in FEB 2012. Gov. Chris Christie (R) vetoed it on 2/20/2012, just hours after it passed.
4. ME voters will vote on a homosexual marriage referendum in the 2012 election. The Act to Allow Marriage Licenses for Same-Sex Couples and Protect Religious Freedom clarifies that, if approved, it would not require clergy to perform gay marriages if it violates their beliefs. In 2009, Maine voters overturned a homosexual “marriage” law that the state legislature and governor had approved in May of that year.
5. MD voters may add a homosexual marriage referendum to the ballot in the 2012 election after the state legislature and governor approved it earlier in March.
6. MN voters will vote on a constitutional amendment in the 2012 election which defines marriage as between 1 man and 1 woman.
7. WA voters will vote on a same-sex marriage referendum in the 2012 election after the state legislature and governor passed legislation legalizing it earlier in February.

As a Maryland resident I will be voting to stop same sex marriage and I will also be voting to get rid of the pervert loving Sons of Beach’s that passed it.

Newsmax should know better than to buy into the Left's control of language with the headline "Anti-gat Marriage Law." However, I do recognize that they simply ran an AP story, and the AP would have been remiss to have not used those words.

The SCOTUS will have to finally decide if elective behavior entitles one to special constitutional rights...John Roberts will probably say it does so look for Nose Pickers to sue to have a constitutional right to flick boogers willy nilly in public...

...I know, a gross comparison but no more gross than buggering sodomites.

I wonder what effect the referendums in WA and MD would have on current law if majorities vote against gay marriage.

It's not anti Gay, it's Pro traditional family including procreation. It's the freaks who
are anti-marriage and want to pervert the institution.

All that can be hoped for is that in the 4 states with referendums - Maine, Maryland, Washington and Minnesota - majorities will vote against gay marriage, to counter the judicial tyranny.

We’re going to let the insane define things? A male trying to mate with another male’s anal canal is insane. A female trying to mate with another female using a rubber appliance is insane. It’s like Aunt Thelma sitting at your dinner table trying to eat by sticking a turkey baster in her ear and telling you that’s her lifestyle. It may be, but it’s still insane behavior.

And how would people vote if they were allowed to?

One correction:

Gay “marriage” has NEVER been made legal in Massachusetts!

Confirmed Today: Gay Marriage STILL Not Legal in Mass.!
For years now — since 2005 — the homosexual lobby has filed and refiled its bill to legalize “gay marriage” in Massachusetts. They know that the law as it now stands refers to “man/woman”, “husband/wife” relationships as marriage. Today, the Judiciary Committee once again sent the bill to “study” — meaning, they killed it. But the very existence of this bill over the years confirms that we are correct that “gay marriage” has never been made legal in Massachusetts.

SHELVED TODAY:
House Bill 1708
AN ACT TO PROTECT MASSACHUSETTS FAMILIES THROUGH EQUAL ACCESS TO CIVIL
MARRIAGE
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Chapter 207 is hereby amended by adding the
following new section:—
Section 37A. Any person who otherwise meets the eligibility requirements of this chapter may
marry any other eligible person regardless of gender.

Why would the Judiciary Committee continue to bury this bill? We believe they don’t want to draw attention to the fact that all the “gay marriages” since 2004 are fraudulent.
