The Miss USA pageant will be held tomorrow. Im praying that Miss Texas Brittany Booker wins the crown.
Not just because she is a stunning, 511, green-eyed model, as her Miss Texas biography describes her. And not because she looks fabulous in both an evening gown and a swimsuit (both of which are required in the competition).
Im backing 21-year-old Brittany because she is a devoted Christian.
And while she is beautiful on the outside, she is even more beautiful on the inside.
A Houston native, Brittany was raised in a Christian family, by parents who instilled in her strong morals and ethics. Those values were reinforced at BayArea Christian School, from which young Brittany graduated third in her class.
Miss Texas is a junior at the Universityof Houston, where she majors in psychology/human development and family studies. When shes not in the classroom, shes a regular volunteer at Hope Village Home for the Mentally Challenged.
Brittany devotes her Sundays to praise and worship, using the exceptional singing talent the Lord gave her in her church choir.
What I particularly admire about Miss Texas is that she is no closet Christian, hiding her beliefs so that she can get ahead in this fallen world in which we live, this decadent society of ours that has defined deviancy down.
Indeed, Freddie Cullins, former administrator at BayArea Christian School, attests that Brittany is bold in expressing her personal Christian faith.
In that trait, Miss Texas brings to mind Carrie Prejean, the former Miss California who controversially finished first runner-up in the 2009 Miss USA pageant.
Prejean, an unabashed Christian, was sandbagged by pageant judge Perez Hilton, the gay Hollywood gossip blogger, who used his final question of the contest to ask her where she stood on same-sex marriage.
Had she danced around the question, Prejean almost certainly would have been crowned Miss USA.
But the young woman stood up for her Christian beliefs. She told Hilton that marriage should be between a man and a woman.
Given Brittany Bookers boldness is expressing her Christian faith, it would not be surprising if one of the judges of this years Miss USA competition deviously decides to ask her a question that could cost her the title.
Thats why Ive gone on the Miss USA website to vote for Brittany to make the pageants semifinals. And thats why Im praying the young Christian women wins the crown.
Dud she pass the test of knowing who the VP is?
First, I hope she can pass a SPELLING test ;^)
Are they going to ask her about homosexual marriage? Then, when she gives the “wrong” answer, will she be the subject of a media smear campaign?????
Devote Christianity includes separation from the world.
Maybe yours says something else.
Come ye out from among them and be te therefor separated
YE ... not te
Carrie Underwood and Kris Allen are Christians. Both won American Idol.
Those are nice but what does she really look like?
Shame is, the judges will ask her a question on Gay Marriage and it will be all over for her.
She looks good in the pictures but it’s not my favorite type of face. It looks too bony. I like softer features.
(I realize not many noticed the face...)
“Likewise, I want women to adorn themselves with proper clothing, modestly and discreetly, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly garments, but rather by means of good works, as is proper for women making a claim to godliness.” - 1 Timothy 2:9-10
She should dress like a Christian if she wanted to be treated like a Christian.
Well, since you brought up Prejean, let’s hope this one doesn’t have x-rated video out there.
