FARMINGTON, Utah -- Sen. Orrin Hatch predicted President Obama's campaign team would use Mitt Romney's Mormon faith against him in the general election.
Speaking to a group of GOP delegates at a campaign stop Tuesday, the six-term Republican incumbent warned, "You watch, they're going to throw the Mormon church at him like you can't believe."
Asked to elaborate in an interview later, Hatch fingered campaign adviser David Axelrod and White House aide David Plouffe as the masterminds who would insert the issue into the campaign.
"Let me tell you something. The Obama people have some of the best political consultants in the country and they don't get there because they're always wonderful people. They're very tough. I have respect for them. They're very tough. I've met with Axelrod, he's the best there is in the business. Plouffe, you've got to say he's one of the best. And there is nothing they won't do," Hatch asserted.
Hatch went even as far to say he thought the duo had already played the religion card against the likely GOP nominee, but failed to point to any evidence of it.
On Monday, Romney was confronted by a Ron Paul supporter with a question about whether he agreed with a passage in the Book of Mormon that describes cursing African Americans. Clearly annoyed, Romney answered with a swift "no" and moved on.

"You can find some pretty outlandish statements by some of our early leaders that we've all had to live with from time to time..." Hatch told the gathering of delegates in this town about 20 minutes north of Salt Lake City.

Actually the Paul supporter attempted to read a passage from the Mormon "scripture" Book of Moses in the Pearl of Great Price...[mormons load up on alternative "scriptures"]
So...is Romney, by answering "no," disagreeing with what is in Mormon "scriptures?" Is he now tossing the Lds "scriptures" under the bus to try to win? And why would he be "annoyed" if he has a chance to explain a Mormon "scripture?" If somebody asked me a question about a verse in the Bible, that'd be great!
From the article: "You can find some pretty outlandish statements by some of our early leaders that we've all had to live with from time to time..." Hatch told the gathering of delegates in this town about 20 minutes north of Salt Lake City.
OK, Flying Inmans...others...the "competition" is on per this "invite" from Lds senator Hatch: Let's "flesh out" and unpack those unnamed "outlandish statements by some...early [Lds] leaders."
Maybe it was Joseph Smith's statement that he's been the ONLY person in the world that knows how to keep a church together...that Paul didn't do it...Jesus didn't do it...but Smith did.
Or perhaps it's Brigham Young's constant teachings (for over 20 years) that Adam is God? Or how about Brigham's teachings of blood atonement?
Pull out those quotes now...we'll have a real "competition" here!
Why wouldn’t he? There’s certainly enough material to work with.
This reminds me of Beck, when he said he was going to be on the lookout for “anti-Mormon prejudice” against Romney.
If Obama does that, his Muslim faith is fair game. How about some video of Muslim radicals cutting off the heads of “infidels” all in the name of Alla?
It is a two way street and it is Romney’s election to lose if he does not fight and fight HARD AND DIRTY as Obama will.
He will, if we are silly enough to nominate him. The Obama super PACs will have a field day with his record.
Duh. By November, there won’t be a man, woman or child in America who hasn’t heard about the magic underwear, tablets, seer stones, etc.
Imagine if Obama was running against somebody who for the first 13 years of his adult life belonged to a doctrinaire "white only" elaborate Good ole boys' country club...
...and that the candidate gave 10% of his income to the white-only country club...
...and that the country club had a gazebo commonly used for the tithing members...but blacks weren't allowed...
Do you think that both Dems & MSM would somehow refrain from exploring all that...???
...All because some Mormons want a "closed book" on their history???
...And because a few Republicans -- who probably compartmentalize 'religion' in their own lives -- want to impose a hermetically-sealed approach to faith issues upon others???
The FACTS are:
* Blacks could not commonly hold the priesthood til 1978;
* black men or women could not get married in lds temples til 1978;
* in fact, they couldn't get temple recommends til 1978;
* which also meant that blacks were generally excluded from the upper etchelon of the Mormon heaven (=living with heavenly father forever)...unless they were servants/slaves there.
And not a peep from Mitt Romney in his 20s or early 30s about this doctrine & policy of his church???
Well then... turnabout’s fair play. Obama should then be held to answer... finally... for his connection to Jeremiah Wright and the Trinity United CC.
“...The Obama super PACs will have a field day with his record...”
:::::::::::
And how about Obama’s “record” of what he has done to this country? And the fact he has done NOTHING FOR this country and the ever-growing list of LIES, the Marxist agenda, the anti-American and anti-military agenda and much more.
And whomever is the Repub nominee could not have a field day with that? Romney was not my choice but if that is the way it turns out, then we MUST support him big time to save this nation. Four more years of Adolf Obama, and America is gone.
Yep, and Beck is going endorse Romney.
It will be very hard for Romney to bring anti-muslim/islam up as a strategy.
SLC lds have been patterning for decades with islam leaders and Joseph Smith declared himself to be the new mohammad. He (JS) spent a lot of time fashioning his organization and writings after islam (among other cults).
Who is this We? Do you have someone in your pocket? If Romney (Obama light) needs my vote to win Tennessee, he has already lost the election. I cannot vote for Obama. I cannot vote for Romney for many of the same reasons.
The Real Story Behind Rev. Wright's Controversial Black Liberation Theology Doctrine

(some key excerpts)
["(Jose) Diaz-Balart is the son of Rafael Diaz-Balart y Guitierrez (a former Cuban politician). He has three bothers, Rafael Diaz-Balart (a banker), Mario Diaz-Balart (a US Congressman) and Lincoln Diaz-Balart (also a US Congressman). His aunt, Mirta Diaz-Balart, was Fidel Castro's first wife."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jose_Diaz-Balart]
JOSE DIAZ-BALART, TELEMUNDO NETWORK: "Liberation theology in Nicaragua in the mid-1980's was a pro-Sandinista, pro-Marxist, anti-U.S., anti-Catholic Church movement. That's it. No ifs, ands, or buts. His church apparently supported, in the mid-'80s in Nicaragua, groups that supported the Sandinista dictatorships and that were opposed to the Contras whose reason for being was calling for elections. That's all I know. I was there.
I saw the churches in Nicaragua that he spoke of, and the churches were churches that talked about the need for violent revolution and I remember clearly one of the major churches in Managua where the Jesus Christ on the altar was not Jesus Christ, he was a Sandinista soldier, and the priests talked about the corruption of the West, talked about the need for revolution everywhere, and talked about 'the evil empire' which was the United States of America."
REV. BOB SCHENCK, NATIONAL CLERGY COUNCIL: "it's based in Marxism. At the core of his [Wright's] theology is really an anti-Christian understanding of God, and as part of a long history of individuals who actually advocate using violence in overthrowing those they perceive to be oppressing them, even acts of murder have been defended by followers of liberation theology. That's very, very dangerous."
SCHENCK: "I was actually the only person escorted to Dr. Wright. He asked to see me, and I simply welcomed him to Washington, and then I said Dr. Wright, I want to bring you a warning: your embrace of Marxist liberation theology. It is contrary to the Gospel, and you need, sir, to abandon it. And at that he dropped the handshake and made it clear that he was not in the mood to dialogue on that point."

Obama's Church: Gospel of Hate
Kathy Shaidle, FrontPageMag.com
Monday, April 07, 2008
In March of 2007, FOX News host Sean Hannity had engaged Obamas pastor in a heated interview about his Churchs teachings. For many viewers, the ensuing shouting match was their first exposure to "Black Liberation Theology"...
Like the pro-communist Liberation Theology that swept Central America in the 1980s and was repeatedly condemned by Pope John Paul II, Black Liberation Theology combines warmed-over 1960s vintage Marxism with carefully distorted biblical passages. However, in contrast to traditional Marxism, it emphasizes race rather than class. The Christian notion of "salvation" in the afterlife is superseded by "liberation" on earth, courtesy of the establishment of a socialist utopia.

Catholics for Marx [Liberation Theology]
By Fr. Robert Sirico
FrontPageMagazine.com | Thursday, June 03, 2004
In the days when the Superpowers were locked in a Cold War, Latin America seethed with revolution, and millions lived behind an iron curtain, a group of theologians concocted a novel idea within the history of Christianity. They proposed to combine the teachings of Jesus with the teachings of Marx as a way of justifying violent revolution to overthrow the economics of capitalism.
The Gospels were re-rendered not as doctrine impacting on the human soul but rather as windows into the historical dialectic of class struggle. These "liberation theologians" saw every biblical criticism of the rich as a mandate to expropriate the expropriating owners of capital, and every expression of compassion for the poor as a call for an uprising by the proletarian class of peasants and workers.

"Barack Obama received at least some instruction in the Islamic faith of his father and went with him to the mosque, but the importance of this experience is vastly overstated by conservative commentators who seek to portray Obama as a Muslim of sorts. Radical anti-Americanism, rather than Islam, was the reigning faith in the Dunham household. ...
Barack Obama is a clever fellow who imbibed hatred of America with his mother's milk, but worked his way up the elite ladder of education and career. He shares the resentment of Muslims against the encroachment of American culture, although not their religion. He has the empathetic skill set of an anthropologist who lives with his subjects, learns their language, and elicits their hopes and fears while remaining at emotional distance. That is, he is the political equivalent of a sociopath. The difference is that he is practicing not on a primitive tribe but on the population of the United States.
There is nothing mysterious about Obama's methods. "A demagogue tries to sound as stupid as his audience so that they will think they are as clever as he is," wrote Karl Krauss. Americans are the world's biggest suckers, and laugh at this weakness in their popular culture. Listening to Obama speak, Sinclair Lewis' cynical tent-revivalist Elmer Gantry comes to mind, or, even better, Tyrone Power's portrayal of a carnival mentalist in the 1947 film noire Nightmare Alley. The latter is available for instant viewing at Netflix, and highly recommended as an antidote to having felt uplifted by an Obama speech. ..."

"Black theology will accept only the love of God which participates in the destruction of the white enemy. What we need is the divine love as expressed in Black Power, which is the power of black people to destroy their oppressors here and now by any means at their disposal".--James (Jim) Cone,

SEAN HANNITY: But Reverend Jeremiah Wright is not backing down and has not for years and in his strong stance on the teaching of black liberation theology is nothing new. He had the same things to say last spring when he appeared on "Hannity & Colmes:"
WRIGHT: If you're not going to talk about theology in context, if you're not going to talk about liberation theology that came out of the '60s, systematized black liberation theology that started with Jim Cone in 1968 and the writings of Cone and the writings of Dwight Hopkins and the writings of womynist theologians and Asian theologians and Hispanic theologians, then you can't talk about the black value system.
HANNITY: But I'm a reverend
WRIGHT: Do you know liberation theology, sir?

Although it [The New Black Panther Party] says it sees capitalism as the fundamental problem with the world and revolution as the solution, the new party does not draw its influences from Marxism or Maoism as the original party did. Instead, in a carefully-worded, roundabout form of ethnic nationalism,[8] they say that Marx based his ideology and teachings on indigenous African cultures, and that the NBPP therefore need not look to Marxism or Maoism as a basis for their program, but can look to ideologies that stem directly from those African origins.

"The Justice Department originally brought the case against four armed men who witnesses say derided voters with catcalls of "white devil" and "cracker" and told voters they should prepare to be "ruled by the black man." ..."
One poll watcher called police after he reportedly saw one of the men brandishing a nightstick to threaten voters.
As I walked up, they closed ranks, next to each other, the witness told Fox News at the time. So I walked directly in between them, went inside and found the poll watchers. They said theyd been here for about an hour. And they told us not to come outside because a black man is going to win this election no matter what.
He said the man with a nightstick told him, Were tired of white supremacy, and he starts tapping the nightstick in his hand. At which point I said, OK, were not going to get in a fistfight right here, and I called the police....

All Romney has to do is ask, “Well let me know a little about your church. Who was Donald Young?”
yes...I agree...but this is the 2012 campaign; not the 2008 campaign.
Obama has left UCCism...and Wrightisms...Romney hasn't left Mormonism.
Obama's pretenses of "Christianity" have faded with little religious attending & having left the UCC church...He's not counterfeiting Christianity (anymore) like Romney is...retailers are ALWAYS wary of counterfeit currency...they are not as concerned with obvious foreign currency.
How about a photo of Romney in the ocean with his swimming trucks over his magic undies.
...”Ford was not my choice but if that is the way it turns out, then we MUST support him big time to save this nation.
...”Dole was not my choice but if that is the way it turns out, then we MUST support him big time to save this nation.

I think I heard your song before. I felt I must. I gave, I voted. They lost in flames - against a peanut farmer, a philanderer and an alien marxist Kenyan.
NOW, to save the country, the supreme court, the world, our children, etc. you are pushing RINOmney.
Sorry. I do not vote for DEMONcrats of either party. I’m a conservative.
The odds of RINOmney winning are less than those mentioned above. Zero hasn’t even unleashed on him yet... and RINOmney brings nothing to the table for the base, is a natural repellant to the 99%, and evil to Christians.
Good luck.
