“Gathered in my name.” Hmm...

Protestants have made up this cutesy meaning of “in my name.” All they have to do is call “Jesus!” and they think they are gathered in his name. Of course, Jesus’ name was really Yeshua, a very common Jewish name given to several other figures.

In the real world, “In his name,” means, “according to his commands.” As in “Jesus told me to do this, so I will.” And what did Jesus command?

“Unless you eat of the flesh of the Son of Man, you shall have no life within you.”
“This is my body, take and eat.”
“Do this is remembrance of me.”

Now, if you gather as a family to pray together, or as a small group of co-workers before work, or whatever, that is very blessed.

But if you imagine that forming your own group of people to pray together with and calling that a church constitutes fulfilling Jesus’ commands, you are deluding yourself, because you are disobeying the ones to whom Jesus entrusted his church. Moreover, when you deny the necessity of receiving the real body and blood of Christ, you are calling Jesus a liar, preventing souls from salvation, and preaching the doctrine of Satan.

In the real world, “In his name,” means, “according to his commands.” As in “Jesus told me to do this, so I will.” And what did Jesus command?

Jesus commanded a lot of things...Why do you just pick on one???

Mat 10:5 These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not:
Mat 10:6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
Mat 10:7 And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.
Mat 10:8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.
Mat 10:9 Provide neither gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses,
Mat 10:10 Nor scrip for your journey, neither two coats, neither shoes, nor yet staves: for the workman is worthy of his meat.

What is this??? Meaningless drivel from Jesus??? Your religion doesn't follow these commands...

“Unless you eat of the flesh of the Son of Man, you shall have no life within you.”
“This is my body, take and eat.”
“Do this is remembrance of me.”

We believe every word of that command that you posted...We also believe every other command in John chapter 6...But we don't pull that verse out of context of the rest of the verses and mount it on a monstrance as an idol to be worhipped...

The command is spiritual...Eating Jesus' flesh is spiritual...Jesus flesh is meat, spiritually...

Joh 6:27 Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.

You let that big cracker sit there long enough, especially after collecting moisture, it's going to mold...That ain't Jesus...

Joh 4:32 But he said unto them, I have meat to eat that ye know not of.

And what is the meat that Jesus provides???

Joh 4:34 Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.

That's the meat...That's the flesh of Jesus...That's what we are to eat...

Can we physically eat that meat??? Of course not...We eat it spiritually...

So what is the work??? This is the work:

Joh 6:29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

That is the work we are to do...So what is the will of Him that sent Jesus which is the meat that Jesus provides for us???

Joh 6:40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

Joh 6:47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.

Joh 6:51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.

AGAIN, WHAT IS THE MEAT???

Joh 4:32 But he said unto them, I have meat to eat that ye know not of.
Joh 4:34 Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.

AND WHAT IS THE WILL???

Joh 6:40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.
Joh 6:47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.

AND WHAT IS THE WORK???

Joh 6:29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

AND HOW ARE WE TO WORSHIP GOD??? PHYSICALLY, OR SPIRITUALLY???

Joh 6:63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

Joh 4:10 Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.
Joh 4:14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

Is that real physical water??? Did Jesus bless some water or ask a priest to pray over it???

No, it's spiritual...

Do we worship God by eating a cracker, or doing anything physical??? Absolutely not...

Joh 4:23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
We believe every word in the book of John...It's all literal...But Christians know the difference between the spiritual and the physical... Joh 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

No...we are saying Catholicism is a lie in what it teaches concerning the 'replacement' of Christ's finished work and the sufficiency of... by a bloody ritualistic practice He never instituted...and denying the leadership who they themselves established this ritual to maintain the elevated Priesthood within the catholic church and keep it's membership in bondage.

For...Whenever there is 'a rejection of receiving the grace of God by faith'... it will be 'replaced' by rules and regulations, rituals or ceremonies.... Such as Catholicism has indeed done and practices.

Catholicism teaches the very 'opposite of faith' toward the real event.... they have in its place 'sacramentalism', a physical object that they claim Christ is in the sacraments, which is given by the priest, who changes the bread and the wine.... This becomes the means of grace,.... thus...... 'it nullifies true faith in the real atoning sacrifice.

Salvation is not dependant on communion elements...it rests fully on the 'finished work of Christ'...ONCE for all who come to Him by faith and accept that sufficiency. To add anything other than His work is to deny Him. It's that simple.

Dangus -- you are wrong. There is no such thing as "Protestants" -- the way-out there disbelievers in the Trinity, in Christ's words etc. have no relationship with Lutherans or Presbyterians or conservative Christians.

Lutherans DO believe in the true presence of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist

And so do many traditional, conservative Anglicans

I respectfully submit that these Lutherans, Anglicans etc. should not be clubbed with those who form their own cult of personality....

Check, check, check -- all in a days work for those who belong to the religion of sola mio... they make it all about themselves alone -- they'll even go so far as to say that only THEY get the burning in the bosom that enables them to interpret correctly and thereby they can negate all 2000 years of Christianity before them.... sad, sad puppies...
