1 Timothy 2:5 ...one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.
If there is a debate here then it must follow Bible Scriptures to advocate reproofs, corrections, and instructions on how God the Father has ordained and appointed someone other than HIS SON Christ Jesus as that mediator. In light of 1 Timothy 2:5 - there is no debate here since God's Word clearly points out that that mediator is is Christ Jesus, who has been appointed 2,000 years ago between God and men.
Well done, and which fosters the rest.
unreal......
Gabriel kneeling before Mary and it does not have much to do with Mary???
You can't be serious.......
In giving birth you kept your virginity; in your Dormition you did not leave the world, O Mother of God, but were joined to the source of Life. You conceived the living God and, by your prayers, will deliver our souls from death.507
So you agree then, that the prayers of Mary will deliver people's souls from death?
The most Blessed Virgin Mary was, from the first moments of her conception, by a singular grace and privilege of almighty God and by virtue of the merits of Jesus Christ, Savior of the Human race, preserved immune from all stain of Original Sin.
How do you get from that to your statement?
If she was sinless, she didn’t need a savior. Only sinners need a savior.
By her calling God her savior, it was her tacit admission of her sinfulness.
Her prayers to Jesus, yes. Our concept of the relationship between Mary and Jesus is like that between the queen mother and the kings of Judah. A king had many wives but only one mother.
Or merely a statement of her humility, her low estate as a human being. It is only by Christ that mankind will be restored to its proper place.
—, O Mother of God, but were joined to the source of Life. You conceived the living God and, by your prayers, will deliver our souls from death.507—
On earth, Mary’s will was in conformity with God’s, since she is “full of grace.”
As Queen of Heaven, Mary’s will is certainly in complete conformity to God’s, so she cannot ask for that which God does not will.
And if two people claim to be saints,” to have the power to interpret but offer differing interpretations of the same text? Then who decides between them?
Give me an example of a verse or passage that two *saints* disagree on. The question is too vague.
Likewise for the Catholic church.
Is everything in the Catholic church by consensus? Do all those involved in deciding the *correct* interpretation of a verse or passage come to the same conclusion?
Or is it decided by majority vote?
That's interesting. When Mary visited the children at Fatima, she did not talk at all about bad doctrine within the Catholic Church or that the Church was doing anything wrong for that matter. She did (on all 6 visitations) tell the children to tell everyone to pray the rosary everyday.
They were children. Even if that vision at Fatima was legit, it's not a child's responsibility to correct bad church doctrine. That's the adult's job.
She did (on all 6 visitations) tell the children to tell everyone to pray the rosary everyday.
And the Scriptural basis for the rosary is? And why pray it? What does it do or what was it supposed to accomplish in connection with the Fatima visits?
And nothing about Jesus?
That should set of alarm bells far and wide.
If the vision was legitimate, she would have directed attention to Jesus than to pray a rosary that is almost all about her.
**Catholics can hold anything they want. If it doesnt agree with or cant be found in scripture Im not going to risk my eternal future on what Catholics hold.**
But this IS in Scripture. Luke 1:25 and onward!
LOL! You atart your post with **The simplicity of the Gospel**
And then post stuff from St. Paul.
LOL!
Where’s the Gospel?
**The Catholic church is not a being or entity in its own rights either.**
Good grief, where did you get this notion? Christ gave the keys of the kingdom (Word) to Peter and founded his Church on Peter and the other apostles since he knew he was ascending into heaven.
LOL! I just can’t follow your logic (or non-logic)
What is grace to a catholic?
Is it Gods favor which is given freely whether deserved or not?
Is it some sort of ethereal substance?
mm, ...making some popcorn now...relaxing...waiting for the “Where’s the Gospel?” Show to begin...
We ask Mary to pray for us.
Thanks, once again for posting from the Catechism. You are learning and encouraging other to learn.
