So sorry for the loss of your brother and mother. What a wonderful story that they were buried together with him in her arms.

Good that your sister-in-law was given respect by the motorists in passing. I’m from the old school that motorists should show respect and pull over when a funeral passes by. We just did so a few days ago.

I was so disgusted when after my cousin’s funeral, which was held in a college town, the students darted in between the hearse and the cars to cross the street during the procession to the cemetery.

A real bummer for all the Christians that have been mangled, burned up, blown apart, lost limbs, etc.

Excellant material.

“CREMATION OR BURIAL?”

http://executableoutlines.com/top/cremate.htm

My only problem with cremation is what to do with the ashes. Not a week goes by that we don’t read of some urn with Aunt Mary’s ashes accidently ending up at the Goodwil Donation Station.

Or worse.

Cremation - IMO - is a desecration of the body.

Yes, it’s very satisfying to make a box and bury your own.

Other than fire is alway used as a picture of cleansing, and it was used in pagan sacrifices, there doesn't seem to be any biblical stand on cremation.

Is this your view or are you giving me an example of what some people use to argue against cremation?

A co worker and discussed this Thursday. We are both in our early fifties. He is a member of a Church group similar to 7th day Adventists. I was raised a Southern Baptist. Both my parents are still alive and active. It just came to us that the time to start making these kind of decisions is now. I don’t think God cares what happens to your body. Just as long as you believe in his Son.

Only if they were heretics that denied the truth of the resurrection.

Can’t be a Christian and deny the resurrection. Without the resurrection all is for naught.

I lost a few small ones for sure, and there's a couple of big ones I'm worried about.

At least one of which is aimed right at the house if it falls.

If you decide it is dead/dying and want it down while keeping the house intact, give me a call.

I got experienced in winching trees over prior to cutting while taking out about 60 trees in the Alaskan front yard.

Thanks!
I should know in the spring.
The Magnolias look fine, but one Oak and one unknown tree are kinda questionable.
