A notoriously 'gay-friendly' parish in San Francisco has invited an openly homosexual Episcopalian cleric to lead an Advent Vespers service.
Most Holy Redeemer parish asked Bishop Otis Charles, a retired Episcopalian prelate, to lead the November 30 service. After serving as the Bishop of Utah from 1971 to 1993, he publicly announced that he is homosexual. Divorced from the mother of his 5 children, he solemnized a same-sex union in 2004.
how about no clue about Church History.
i love St Ignatius, who was personally taught the Faith from St John, the Apostle and author of John 6.
How many times are you going to embellish this story??? Ignautius did not learn from John the Apostle...
And again, Ignatius' writings were a forgery...Written a couple hundred years after the supposed Ignatius existed...
So he's not a king...He just lives like one...Has access to summer vacation homes...Can board a jet to anywhere in the world at the drop of a fish-hat...Servants at his beck and call...Want's for nothing...
Poor feller...
"And this food is called among us Εὐχαριστία [the Eucharist], of which no one is allowed to partake but the man who believes that the things which we teach are true, and who has been washed with the washing that is for the remission of sins, and unto regeneration, and who is so living as Christ has enjoined. For not as common bread and common drink do we receive these; but in like manner as Jesus Christ our Saviour, having been made flesh by the Word of God, had both flesh and blood for our salvation, so likewise have we been taught that the food which is blessed by the prayer of His word, and from which our blood and flesh by transmutation are nourished, is the flesh and blood of that Jesus who was made flesh."--St. Justin Martyr, 100AD-165AD, First Apology in defense of the Christians
Why??? Because that's what your side does??? Justify you religion without the use of the Bible??? Now that's funny....I'll debate, BUT LET'S LEAVE GOD OUT OF IT...
Instead of carping about something you perceive to be true, try that little trick called Google. Guess where I found that quote?

Hmmmm. Doesn't look like the banned site you referred to.
Nice red herring.

Let's not abandon the bible in our proofs nor cede ownership if it to the anti-Catholics and non-Christians. We must demand that they justify every word of their translations from the original Greek. We must challenge their assumptions and the false premise that some 16th century shysters had a better understanding of the idiomatic context of each word and phrase than the Early Church Fathers who spoke Kione Greek as their vernacular and wrote extensively on it. Do you really think that those who have already admitted at failing at Catholicism will have any greater success with any other denomination?
Don’t feel bad. As NetPope, elected hereon, the only thing I have is a virtual vatican, a virtual swiss guard, and virtual wealth.

BTW — I am selling virtual indulgences and virtual Simony.
:D
Only with The First Church Of Me.
There is nothing virtual about the Simony you have been peddling. Convincing folks that sins are pre-forgiven for the mere price of stroking your ego makes it a very real sin. That is right up there with your Contumely, Defamation, Detraction, Calumny, Mendacity, and Concealing the Truth.
Good one!
Do we pay in gold or silver, Hossus NetPopius I? (insert virtual genuflect)
Oooh. Lots of fancy words. No substance. But fancy.
By the way -- could you please point to or show where I have tried to "peddle" anything about sins being "pre-forgiven" and having my ego stroked at the same time? Or do you just like swatting straw men?

You may rise, Presently. Kiss the ring. Stop staring at the Pointy Hat.

The Vatican/RCC’s dream is to have that size of a congregation. They don’t, so they blame it on Luther. LOL! Liberalism - it’s always someone else’s fault.
If you used the Bible, you wouldn't be so ignorant.
Sheesh, anything but shining the light of God into a dark corner.
The feeling is mutual regarding your ignorance.
I’ll be sending you a virtual check for aforementioned items through the virtual mail.
Let me know when they’re supposed to arrive......
I don't think a Joel Olsteen feel good lecture is the model for the Church worship.
In terms of size only, I believe the Church has more than Joel.
Since you brought it up, how many are in the congregation of the church you attend?
And you repeated yourself unnecessarily there. Calumny or Mendacity would do. The rest? Maybe you're upset just because it's true.
Just saying....
