I like Mitt Romney and believe he could be a fine president I don't. And it has nothing to do with his magic underpants.

I like Mitt Romney and believe he could be a fine president under different circumstances. Wrong -- he'd be a bad President under any circumstances as long as he holds his liberal views.

“As a born-again Christian, I cannot vote for him. As Dr. Robert Jeffress, pastor of a large Baptist church in Dallas, said, Mormonism is not just another denomination; it is a cult.”
Bigotry on display. My religion is better than your religion.

So, if Mutt were anything but a Mormon Barbara would be fine with his lying, his flip-flopping, his pro-abort, pro-homo marriage, anti-gun, pro-socialist health care and all his other liberal positions?
Pretty pathetic set of priorities.

Bigotry on display. My religion is better than your religion. Not a sound argument. Why should we have to assume that all religions are equally good, effective, useful, etc.?

I don’t find Mormons threatening in any way. Some Muslims, on the other hand...

I have heard of their Special underwear, what is so special about them? Anyone?
Anyone seen pictures of those drawers? Boxer's or briefs.
Do all mormans wear them, or just their Special Elite?
To: delacoert
I have no idea whether there's a good argument for calling Mormonism a cult or not. Who cares?
Whatever one thinks of Romney's Mormonism, clearly it has had no negative impact on his governing capabilities.
Romney is not a RINO because he is a Mormon. He is a RINO because he has no real commitment to the founding principles of our nation.
That's why I won't vote for him. But if he did, if he really was a fighter for core American constitutional values, I would vote for him in a second, Mormon or not.

Statements of Christian Denominations on Mormonism:
Christian churches teach belief in God as an eternal, self-existent, immortal being, unfettered by corporeal limitations and unchanging in both character and nature. In recent years, several Christian denominations have made studies of Mormon teaching and come to the conclusion that there are irreconcilable differences between LDS doctrine and Christian beliefs based on the Bible.
Such bigotry on display, none of the Christian churches accepting Mormon baptism as Christian. Tsk. Tsk.
To: delacoert
Serious question;
What is the difference between a religion and a cult? When I think of cults I think of Jonestown or the Manson Family or the Moonies.
What is it that makes mormonism like these groups? Thank you.

Don;t worry about it. The Mormonism thing is one of those thing where people with discernment understand the point, those without it don’t.

I have heard of their Special underwear, what is so special about them? I heard it has something to do with symbols on them.

Really. What does any of this bullshit have to do with his qualifications to be president? Nothing. Just fuel for bigots. I'll give her one thing though--she and her ilk personify every nasty stereotype of the christian right that the media have worked so hard to spread.
To: delacoert
I like Mitt Romney and believe he could be a fine president under different circumstances. You mean, under circumstances in which he wasn't a liberal Yankee goofball who would change his mind about his own name for a vote? What alternative universe would that be?
Just vote for the Democrat, honey.
