Perhaps your not familiar with the subject at hand, perhaps your not familiar with scripture.

Acts 17:10 And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews.

11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

Why do you think that verse treats the Word and Scripture differently?

Perhaps you're not familiar with the Scriptures the Bereans had in their possession. That would explain your obvious confusion about what I do and do not know as well as your odd attachment to my having commented on Paul when in fact I clearly was commenting on those that compare themselves to Bereans. The Bereans could clearly see that the Gospel Paul preached was worthy of being heard due to the very books of the Bible that Luther tossed out.

That's why it's always funny to see people playing little games about the approach the Bereans took to Scripture when they very clearly refuse to accept the same Scriptures the Bereans were referring to. I fear, however, that's just too complex a thought for those who believe in the, Lego Block Method of Scripture Interpretation" to grasp. I would, after all, require them to be aware of the entire Scripture of what we call the Old Testament as it existed for the Bereans and continued to exist for Christianity right up until Luther.

Apostles never said a negative thing about what was included in the Scriptures the Bereans were searching, yet Luther would have given that he threw portions out. Obviously, like Luther, many people today like to claim they believe in Scripture Alone when in reality they believe in Subset Alone. The Bereans, to their credit, are no where accused of throwing out portions of the Scriptures prior to doing their searching of them.
